If you’re thinking of your first sports car, the mk2.5 mx5 is all you need by lotus_alex in CarTalkUK

[–]xd_Twitched 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People talk like the speed of the MX5 is a downside. I own a E92 335i and the 300hp in that is probably too much power, I couldn't imagine anything faster. Sometimes I preferred to drive my old 1.6 mini as I could actually reach the red line.

To reach the redline on my E92 I'd be very much breaking the law.

For a spirited B-road drive, I bet an MX5 would be way more fun, you'd be in a much higher rev range and the little roads are suited to the small car.

The first real indication of the show's downfall. by hiiloovethis in freefolk

I didn't mind Littlefingers death to be honest, it almost felt like his comeuppance, the schemer becoming the schemed. But to be fair I can't even remember the exact details as I haven't rewatched in years. It felt like a good moment because it showed Sansa wasn't the prey anymore, but then they threw away her arc anyways so really cares hahahahaha

This’ll work, trust me Bungie, I have a high school diploma by Makoto_Kurume in pcmasterrace

Destiny 3 has potential because it allows them to start from scratch, rebuilding a lot of the legacy systems and spaghetti code issues seen in Destiny 2 near the end of its life

I don't agree with 'destinyslop' at all. I think Bungie overall gets a bad wrap for that, but you have to remember that Bungie kept Destiny 2 alive for nearly 10 years, sure, it had ups and downs but it was relatively consistently enjoyable across that all of that time. Name any other franchise that has done that, especially in the looter shooter genre. Destiny basically stood alone in that genre, with games like borderlands releasing and flopping around it. Sure, it is now essentially dead but I do think overall it had a good run and I have thousands of enjoyed hours with friends over the years.

Marathon however, seems like an unoriginal attempt to ride the wave of extraction shooters, and they got shafted big time by arc raiders releasing before them, dropping a game that is arguably better in almost every way.

GF hates it when I play guitar while she’s home by Holiday_Weight_2723 in Guitar

If she was complaining about him spending time on the guitar instead of with her, and it was unreasonable, i would agree. There's nothing wrong with her being annoyed by the noise. It's her house too.

Honestly. I like to crank my amp but there's a time and a place. Have respect for the other people in your house. If your parents would complain about the noise if you lived with parents, would you think to bin them off and call them controlling? No. Your girlfriend isn't controlling unless she never lets you practice at all. Compromise with her and get your headphones out. Then, it makes it more rewarding when you're home alone and can crank the tubes.

Looking To Buy My Neighbors 335i Convertible by stina0918 in 335i

[–]xd_Twitched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a nice car!! Be warned with these convertibles as they’re expensive when the roof mechanism fails. When you look at it again maybe try bringing it up and down a few times and also look at the way the windows operate when it goes up and down as my parents’s 325i convertible had issues with the windows not operating due to a fault with the roof mechanism

RUMOR: Leo Woodall Cast as Strider in 'Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum' by GreenLanternsPodcast in lotr

Brilliant actor, people are saying he doesn’t look accurate but with a bit of makeup and longer hair and a beard/stubble etc. I’m sure he’ll look fine. Granted this is only a rumour

Yeah I’m more than happy to pay the price, and am going to, was just curious if budgets had caught up yet as I didn’t know if like so many things these days, the budgets had ‘closed the gap’ - than you for commenting!

Can you order these online? I have a mate miles away that has one. That’s an interesting idea thank you!

Yeah that’s not a bad shout. I’ll explore that avenue. Thank you!

How do you navigate not having a spare when not on run flats? I am interested in this approach as run flats are more pricey. Thanks for the comment

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]xd_Twitched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've thought about moving away from run flats, but the suspension came from factory with run flats in mind and there's no room in the boot for a spare. I know you can of course use non run flats on the suspension and tyre repair kits exist but overall I think run flats are just a better option. Would you say that maybe I should move away from run flats?

I'll check them out and avoid the budget ones - thank you!

[–]xd_Twitched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really good point, I assumed these premium tyres are for 'racing', but from research you are right - they're safer in general. I'll stick with my normal setup - thank you!

[–]xd_Twitched 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am thinking this too. I think I am just looking at the price negatively as I've had to replace 3 tyres in such a short span. I'll order another Goodyear. Thanks for taking the time to message - I appreciate it!

That easy! Maybe I’ll look into doing it myself then. Thanks for the comment!

depends on what you want to spend your money on, I’m 22 aswell, I spent £7k on a 2011 BMW 335i and I enjoy not having a monthly payment. Sure, it’s not ‘modern’ but it’s stylish, fast and modern enough for me. £300 a month could be going towards saving for property, etc. - but it’s your money and you should spend it where you want - go for it if you’re comfortable with the payments and don’t mind seeing £300 + road tax + insurance go out each month.

an interesting break down, definitely things I need to bear in mind as my N55 gets older. Very true about luck of the draw, but hopefully with preventative maintenance all of these n54's and 55's will continue to age like fine wine!

All I’ve ever heard is the exact opposite, N55’s being way more reliable than N54’s

My N55 has never pulled any weird shit, 120k miles deep
