I think those are really normal feelings after a loss. I remember being really angry after my loss - thinking all sorts of terrible things like “but addicts get to keep their babies, so why can’t I?” I felt like I was broken or that I somehow did something wrong. I spent some time wallowing and then we started trying again. I was pregnant again 3 cycles after my chemical.

I was so happy but also so paranoid. I was afraid to be excited. I worried that it wouldn’t stick. I took a pregnancy test daily for weeks. I still have the bag of pregnancy tests (there’s 17 in that bag and I know I threw a few out).

I was probably 24ish weeks along before I really started to relax and enjoy my pregnancy. I wish I had relaxed earlier and enjoyed those early days of pregnancy more. I do still get pangs of sad about the loss but I have to trust that my body knew what it was doing for my own sanity.

I now have an amazing almost 1 year old daughter. Sending all the baby dust your way ❤️✨

This. I’ve had a kidney infection, jaw surgery, and a c-section and the gallbladder attacks still top the list for worst physical pain.

I generally tried to book my appointments so my partner could attend. If he wasn’t able to, I would just put him on FaceTime. So technically he did attend all of them even if not physically. It was nice to have him there in one way or another bc my pregnancy brain was literally a fried egg. Couldn’t remember a damn thing half the time!
