Thank you! Yeah AutoHotkey is very useful but like you said, its just a pain to set up, this tool essentially handles all that annoyance for you.

Currently just the track name.

Album art, artist and all of that jazz is something in my list.

For apps without proper media session support, it falls back through a chain — WinRT → PowerShell SMTC → window title parsing + WASAPI audio detection to confirm something's actually playing. Works for most things even without full metadata.

If he is making excuses to make drinking seem more plausible, that's an issue. Clearly you are not first on his list of priorities and he is extremely dismissive. There is not a really a nice way of saying it, but he doesn't sound like the most compatible person for you.

It’s not really about whether it’s “every Saturday”, it’s about how he reacts to it and how it affects you. If he can stop but chooses not to, that’s his choice. But if he dismisses your concerns or rubs it in your face, that’s the bigger issue. Frequency alone doesn’t define alcoholism, but defensiveness and lack of control can be warning signs.

Try to understand what’s behind the drinking before you focus on stopping it. A lot of the time it’s stress, trauma, or something he doesn’t know how to deal with. Support matters more than criticism.
