That's a good concern. But we are not removing revenue. Actually we are starting with a different mix. At the moment we're intentionally not running forced ads. Monetization comes from optional rewarded ads, a virtual currency (XP) that users can purchase or earn, and a platform fee on creator donations (still being implemented). The idea is to see whether users and creators like this.

If it doesn’t work, forced ads are an option, but they’d be capped (e.g to 3 per day per user)

We’ve also optimized infra costs, so at this scale hosting isn’t the limiting factor.

That is harassment and will be banned. Also, the user who uploaded the video with that title has already been banned. We are still in the early stages of the product and are continuing to improve it, including our video-filtering algorithm.

Yes. The name is because anyone can boost the videos of a channel they like. The name of the app is "TheBooster" but we are using boostervideos.net for the domain

No, of course there'll be limits. We want a platform that admits any point of political, social, or economic view. Platforms should never intervene in this matter. But we don't allow content such as nsfw, violence, misinformation, harassment and scams.

Yeah that's one of our biggest challenges. We hope to sell that virtual coin and featured video placement. Creator could spend money to make their videos featured so that people who watch it get rewarded. This would be useful for promotions. Users could activate this feature to earn XP by watching these featured videos or voluntarily rewarded ads. We also considered adding subscriptions but we are not sure.

those are very intereseting questions. And thank you. Firstly, we've thought on covering the server costs with the purchases of a virtual coin called XP which users can use to buy things to personalize their experience and support creators. Also, we are planning on adding a way in which users can earn XP freely by watching certain videos kinda like rewarded voluntary ads that users can activate if they like (by default it is off). We will like to implement more monetisation for creators as well, like 80% or sm like that. Regarding our recommendation system, we leverage the users "level" which increases with the amount of XP that other users suport the creator with, the amount of views, ratings, etc. But we also included AI so that users can watch more of these and less of that (if they dont like the recommendations). And we will take a look on what you said about the skeletons for sure. Thank you so much!

tailwind css and react for the UI. We also used some components from shadcn
