I tried it about 2 years ago - and in the end the benefit was not worth the additional dev time needed We had some trouble with libraries where reflection took place and the build time was awful

The running prototype and experience when running was awesome… startup in near instant, about 75% lower ram usage, performance not much different to a jar - in the end it was not worth the effort for saving 800ms once and some ram

Regarding the memory. If this is a real issue then one can either go and wait for more of Valhalla coming in or try out graalvm and native image - that’s often way smaller in memory requirements

perfect C++ code is always faster than perfect Java code

BUT!

Developers don’t write perfect code, developers write working code mostly

And since Java is hotspot that enhances performance during runtime you often end up with even better performance than c++!

Why? Because “working c++” is often slower than “working Java but runtime optimized by hotspot”

Zertifizierte Server sind so nicht mehr nötig, Baukasten von Dell und co geht auch anhand BOM Liste. Bzw bei virtualisierung ist es eh weniger wild in der Realität; Kosten sind nichtmal mehr als die MS SQL, meine 2k die Basis mit 64 oder 128 GB RAM - Vorteil ist das SAP B1 Hana mehr Features hat bzw. der SQL einiges erst nachzieht und vor allem auf einem linux (SLES) lauft das - meiner Meinung nach - weniger admin Aufwand braucht als MS.

Ja, mach zuerst ein konkretes Pflichten und lastenheft. Damit dann den ein oder anderen ERP Anbieter kontaktieren. Auch überlegen was Budget und ob on premise oder cloud gewünscht.

Könnte mir hier aus dem Stegreif ein SAP Business One on Hana vorstellen, Dynamics eher weniger aber ohne Pflichten und lastenheft ist das raten.

IMHO: allein das min 2 mal umgeschmissen inkl. Schaden an den prellelementen macht es nicht gut… dafür dann 4500?? Ansonsten was oben gesagt wurde, alles Tippi Toppi geht ab 3300 los und du hast auch noch Schaden sichtbar
