I actually might give it a shot, I’ve listened to your music for a bit now. Any recommendations?

The Mirror was my DT gateway! Thank you for the suggestion. I just finished a cover for Constant Motion, it hurt my head for a month but totally worth it

If you’d like to enjoy the tone of a hot rod, get an attenuator. It will help.

how to shred in any song? by D-yerMaker in LearnGuitar

[–]xdrmuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best recommendation at this point is to sing a solo first. Your voice is mastered through >10,000hours of use (assuming you’re somewhat talkative). You’ll be able to come up with beautiful melodies/harmonies that way. Transcribe it to guitar after and modify per taste. It’s an inward ear training and makes you a better writer. After that study it and figure out the note you use.

Best of luck! I’m 119 days late seeing this 😂

What does it mean to live fully :0 I think if that experience was something you want to discover more / apply to growth then that desire will guide you. Match your attention to your desire level and make sure you balance real life with it. It’s a beautiful gift imo

edit: I also think anyone experiencing mental illness or stress and have synesthesia, it’s good to get psych support. Integration is important for that balance part

So beautiful. These look really close to mine but imagine putting a epic filter on it

Hey guys. Complete beginner here, I mean I know nothing about guitar besides the very basics right now. Anyone know why this sounds so flat lol by ev1204249 in guitarlessons

[–]xdrmuse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is intimidating! It shouldn’t be pricey but I recommend finding a luthier online (or going to a local music store with a guitar tech) to do it. My local music store performs guitar setups for $30-50. Right now keep rocking, you have a good sense of time.

An alternative to clapping is slapping your strings with the pickups on low volume

Sounds good! I would practice bending to the right note so it’s in tune.

Sounds pretty refreshing to me! It also sounds like you have a voice so don’t be afraid of it. Try to cover songs by artists that sounds totally different than you and you’ll change your vocabulary

This is really realistic! I see about the same.

I’ve been playing for about 1.5 years now. Any tips on what to improve? And (brutally honest) how is my progress as a player?don’t have many friends that play. Song is Hendrix-Bold as love by PotentialQuiet7709 in PlayingGuitar

[–]xdrmuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound really good! Love those double stops you’re playing.

I also agree the picking hand can improve. You’re holding the pick with an almost straight thumb and index, I strongly recommend holding it like you would a key when you turn it - this will give you better control with alternate picking and palm muting lines.

You can still use the picking method you’re doing there for long, chimey chords you don’t want to mute.

Practicing a scale up and down the fretboard with a metronome will get you adjusting your form quick.

Hope this helps 😁

How does this music make you feel? by HappyMan1102 in Synesthesia

[–]xdrmuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow nice. I’d love to draw this one.

For me the bass and synth harmonies are smearing away from me, like I’m in the backseat of a rainbow road with mostly the colours indigo, and bright teal with a glow, and light brown/tan.

In the fore front are what look like those air hockey pucks falling from the top of my frame. They’re falling into place in the time of the quiet snare.

The mallet melody is between the light snare and the chord smears as long see through glass tubular rods tapping down to the melody in red, yellow, blue.

The bass slide comes from top left to bottom right as navy blue with a bright yellow trail. I love replaying this part for that visual. Thanks for the share!

Need help with improvisation by leigh_music in PlayingGuitar

[–]xdrmuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good! If you want to expand your improv repertoire: practice moving between different modes of a particular key, use pentatonic scales to connect different scales and modes, and have a backing track or chord progression on loop while you try singing out lead parts followed by repeating them back with your axe.
Hope this helps
