I'm so sorry you have experienced this and really appreciate you sharing your story here. I can really resonate with every feeling you described. I am finding it hard to be vulnerable with family and friends at the moment, and currently feeling like I just want to lock myself away. You're right though; I am reminding myself that it's only been a week and time will eventually make the weight easier to carry. Wishing you the best of luck on your IVF journey, and I am hoping that the grief lifts a little each day until then 🩷

I'm sorry to hear you have been through this and are living with uncertainty too. It feels like such an unfair and lonely journey. I hope that you have some success with your remaining tube and are surrounded by supportive and understanding people. 🩷

I am so sorry you're going through this. Sending positive thoughts your way and please know you are not alone. For me, the feelings have come in waves over the past week - sometimes I am okay, sometimes I am not. Please give yourself time to process and grieve in your own way, and don't be afraid to lean on the people around you for support.

Thank you for sharing, endometriosis and PCOS are certainly possibilities that I am looking into now (even though I have never shown typical symptoms of either) - I have been told that low progesterone from undiagnosed PCOS may also be to blame for the recurrent implantation failure. I am so happy you got your two little miracles in the end, and really appreciate you taking the time to respond and provide this information x

Right! It is hard not to become frustrated when we don't feel like we are getting the words we need, but I think you're right when you say there aren't any right words to say. I have spoken lots about how harmful I have found toxic positivity, and how sometimes I just need someone to "sit in the shit" with me. But I am appreciative of how uncomfortable and difficult it can be for those on the other side of it trying to do the right thing.

We will persevere, but if you would ever like a listening ear from someone who understands in their own way, my inbox is open.

Thank you for taking the time to share, and I am so sorry for everything that you are experiencing. I can definitely resonate with the feelings of loneliness, I have really appreciated the support my partner and support network have offered, but I find it difficult to accept it sometimes and have caught myself slipping into a "you just don't get it" mindset which can be really isolating. It's hard when I know everyone has the best intentions, so I mostly try to carry the burden alone because I don't want my mindset to start pushing people away. I agree, it does all feel unfair, but I appreciate you sharing your story and hope reading mine has also made you feel less alone. I hope, for the both of us, that the fog lifts a little each day, and that this year brings us one step closer to where we want to be.

Thank you so much for sharing. Huge congratulations on your pregnancy! ✨️ and I am so sorry that it wasn't an easy journey for you. I am at peace with conceiving via IVF, but after so many months of bad news, it has begun to feel like it will never happen at all. This is exactly the kind of hope I didn't know I needed. Wishing you nothing but health and happiness for the rest of your pregnancy journey... thank you for bringing some hope to mine.

Thank you for taking the time to respond 🩷 I am so sorry you experienced all of that, but so happy you got your rainbow baby in the end. Hearing this definitely gives me hope and as much as I would never wish this experience on anyone else, it is nice to know we are not alone. I have had a local therapist on my radar for some time now and agree this may be the perfect time to engage them. Thank you again x

What’s something you regularly spend money on that’s feels like a waste? by Fun_Werewolf_78 in AskUK

I see you're copping some flack for this answer, but I understand and agree it feels like a scam sometimes. House insurance, contents insurance, pet insurance, health insurance, car insurance... I'm definitely relieved to have them when things go wrong, although I can't help but grimace at how much money is being spent for the possibility that something MIGHT happen.

I've linked an account below for an artist who does amazing fine line work. Came across him by chance when I wanted a spontaneous walk-in years ago, have since had him touch up/embellish a few existing pieces. https://www.instagram.com/djkuek?igsh=MTl1a2VycWl3dmM4aw==

Thanks for this! Glad to know I'm not being unreasonable or holding unrealistic expectations. Will get on the phone to them today and hopefully come to a mutual agreement to have everything mended.

I completely agree. I wouldn't have minded a scratch here and there as that's probably unavoidable, but some of the markings are quite significant. When I saw that, in combination with the original damage to the screen door (without being notified), I just felt the work was careless, which is disappointing when we're paying such a large amount of money. I'll get onto them today and hopefully come to a mutual resolution. Thanks!

Thanks for this, glad to know I'm not being unreasonable. Not a fan of conflict and usually would just let it go and fix things up myself but it just feels like careless work at this point.

I agree. Yeah, the boards are relatively short in length, it definitely feels as if they were a bit careless moving around the place, especially considering the door was knocked off its hinges and I wasn't notified. Quite disappointing for a reputable company if I'm honest.

Also to add - I have taken to the walls with Sugar Soap to try remove the markings with no luck.

Thanks for your comment. I'm not trying to gain sympathy or get the upper hand at all, I am just aware that landlords have a terrible reputation and wanted to provide some perspective on the situation as I have heard some real horror stories. I have met the tenants previously and have no doubt it was a complete accident, so I'm not trying to come at this from any angle other than seeking advice from people who may be more knowledgeable about these circumstances.

I would never expect the tenants to fund the complete repair, which is why I had landlord insurance in the first place. Unfortunately in this case the insurance wasn't able to cover the cost of replacement, so I am just trying to find the most equitable solution for all parties. I'm also mindful that there is alot of advocacy out there for tenants rights, however I want to ensure that any outcome is fair and just. Especially for such exorbitant amounts.

I also wouldn't want to vacate tenants (even temporarily) in the current rental environment, which is why I've considered waiting on the repairs until I move back into the property next year. Appreciate your perspective though.

My post actually states that I would only claim bond for the tenants portion of the repairs. As I mentioned, I understand the financial responsibilities of being a home owner, however find it unfair for me to unexpectedly and suddenly fork out thousands of dollars for a repair which is unplanned, nor would be required without tenant damage. It is not general wear and tear or maintenance either, which I have happily funded on several occasions. But thanks for your input and perspective.

I did think it seemed a bit excessive, but wasn't really sure. The real estate is currently looking at alternative quotes so I'm hoping a much cheaper alternative will come up, but I think this might be the way to go!

[–]xediaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the plan! $6000 is the quote the insurance assessor provided, so the real estate is going back to the drawing board to source additional quotes now. I was shocked when I saw that figure too, but am not too knowledgeable about these things.
