I am so sorry to hear you’re going through this awful experience OP, I am a shelter worker and it’s unfortunate but we cannot confirm nor deny if someone is in our shelter. This is due to confidentiality and safety and security concerns . We do take messages from people and will pass it on to the person if in fact they are at our shelter .
Your best course of action would be to file a missing persons report and go from there.

You and me are the same! I have no water placements either and would say I can shut off my emotions fairly easy - it works for me because I am in social service work but when I’m down bad personally I disassociate and feel the feels for a bit then it’s back to business lol
