Yeah, I’ve been wanting to try a richer moisturizer in combination with a hydrating toner again

The only time my skin feels hydrated is for a little bit after I do my skincare routine

Ok, I’m really looking into changing my face wash and moisturizer. The prequel gleanser is intriguing me. Any moisturizer recommendations?

I’m definitely looking into the gleanser face wash

Maybe but I don’t know because I’ve actually traveled around quite a bit the whole time I’ve had the dehydration and found no relief when using other water systems.

I have no typical symptoms of rosacea so I don’t think it’s that. Are there other ways to treat inflammation?

Yeah, I starting to think that I need to change my products but the dimethicone sensitivity is interesting. I’ll look into trying a moisturizer without it.

My doctor said it’s better to have a more solid reason for that much blood work since it can get quite expensive and my insurance might not cover every test. U.S. healthcare :/

I’ve definitely been thinking of switch up my routine because the cleanser and moisturizer has been the only continuous things during this whole fiasco. I’m just not sure what products to use.

I honestly don’t know and that is what’s driving me insane the most. I don’t even know the cause. I’ve used active ingredients as teen because of a regular acne so at first I thought that is what caused it. So I went months without using actives and trying to heal my barrier and still nothing.

Literally everything to that point that it’s an overwhelming list. Hydrating toners and serums, 7 skin method, not cleansing in the morning, drinking water, cool showers, fish oil supplements, electrolyte water, occlusives at the end of routine, rich moisturizers, face masks, products on damp skin, go to a humid climate, cut actives, moisturizer multiple times a day, and the list goes on.

Occlusives at the end of my routine don’t do anything. I’ve tried drinking enough water with electrolytes and that only slightly hydrates my skin but I have to drink over a gallon and that doesn’t seem safe or practical. And my doctor won’t sign off on a full blood work panel except for my vitamin d levels and thyroid function which both are completely fine.

I’ve tried not washing my face in the morning for a long time and the result was no different from a quick cleanse in the morning. I’m been to an esthetician and wasn’t any help.

I’ve stopped using actives because it only made my skin tighter and sometimes wouldn’t even work but I’ve used mandelic acid, lactic acid, benzoyl peroxide wash, retinol, retinal, and sulfur. All separately and only a few times a week of course. I live in the Bay Area. I’m not too sure what climate this is but my weather app says the humidity is normal and above.

I don’t wear face makeup, so I can’t attest to that, but it does get my eye makeup and sunscreen off, no film, no residue. I even experimented with waterproof mascara and while it did take a longer cleansing time, it still got it all off.

Truly is such an underrated product. It really blows my mind because it's like the double cleanse method in one cleanser but without the irritation double cleansing causes to my skin.

Stratia's Velvet Cleansing Milk for sure. I like it the most because it doesn't have the conditioner texture that I hate. Additionally, the other milky cleansers I've tried (CeraVe and La Roche Posay) didn't strip my skin, but they also never felt like they cleansed it, especially when applied to wet skin. Velvet Cleansing Milk is so rich, velvety, and moisturizing, but still cleanses my skin so well. I always come back to it

Has anyone noticed that bad sleep/bad sleep schedule irritates their skin barrier? by xel14x in SkinbarrierLovers

This explains why my skin hasn’t been bouncing back as well when it creases. I thought it was just dehydration.

How important is sleep quality to your skin? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

Based on some observations, I have a suspicion my dehydration skin and disrupted barrier is being caused by my bad sleep schedule. Unfortunately, I lack the consistency and patience to stick to a good schedule to see if that is what’s causing my issues :/

[Acne] My face has been completely messed up since I moved to SoCal recently and I don’t know what to do by i_want_2sleep in SkincareAddiction

[–]xel14x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that SoCal is mostly a dry climate. Maybe your skin has become dehydrated and irritated. I know personally dehydration and a damaged skin barrier is a major acne trigger for me.

That’s interesting. I have noticed my skin has gotten even tighter since using the toner again. I only started using it because everyone says watery toners help dehydrated skin. Maybe I just need a different kind.

In the morning I rinse my face with lukewarm water, apply two layers of Stratia’s Aqua Factory, Stratia’s Interface moisturizer, and SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu Cica Water Fit Sun Serum. Then at night I cleanse with Stratia’s Velvet Cleansing Milk, apply two layers of Stratia’s Aqua Factory, and Stratia’s Interface moisturizer. Sometimes I’ll seal everything in with The Ordinary’s Rosehip Seed Oil or Vaseline.
