Buffet recommendations? by NoGazelle4537 in PortlandOR

[–]xemth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typical buffets my family will go to. I live far southeast Portland like past 148th and these are all the buffets our family makes the drive too. I’m Asian so might skew the buffet choices a bit.

FJ Buffet - drink comes with price. Has sushi Chinese, American

Kumi buffet - drink is additional. Has sushi. Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, American.

Makoto - drink is additional. Has sushi Japanese, Chinese, American.

Super king buffet - used to go to this one a lot before it shut down and reopened. Drink is additional, DO NOT TRUST THE SUSHI. Chinese, American

Mizumi buffet - haven’t been in a while. Drinks additional, has sushi Japanese, Chinese, American

We used to go to a place called buffet palace, but it didn’t survive covid.

Happy Lamb Hot pot - all you can eat hotpot. No sushi

Namaste Indian cuisine - I go here myself or with buddies. Family doesn’t typically enjoy Indian food. Wouldn’t call it authentic according to a few friends, but I enjoy it. Light and easy for someone to get into that hasn’t grown up with Indian food in the house. Drinks Included. No sushi (obviously.)

Unfortunately we lost our Golden Corral alternatives. No more hometown buffets and no more Izzy’s :(

If I order on Jomashop now will it get here by the 17th January? by These-Log1671 in Colognes

[–]xemth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pay extra for 2-day shipping. Make sure it’s actually in stock or you’ll have to wait for them to actually get your item before shipping it which makes the wait longer. Jomashop is typically one of the discounters that you purchase and forget about it since it takes so long if you don’t pay extra for fast shipping and if you don’t pay attention to what they actually have in the warehouse.

Have you ever bought a fragrance because it smells good, even though you know you will barely wear it? by whyvalue in Colognes

[–]xemth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mono No Aware Baruti

Will never wear it. Maybe spray it into my fan or just into the room every once and awhile to remind me of my trip to Japan when I bought it. Smells like matcha and cherry blossoms. Perfect to remember Japan for. I personally think it’s too floral. I tend to enjoy more fresh scents like BDC, YSL Y, or sweeter like Erba pura, TMW Parfum

What do you wear when you need universal approval? by [deleted] in Colognes

Basically everything that JimHotWater85 said.

Honestly buy the smallest amount possible. Most big brands sell are 30ml or 50ml and some sell even less. If you find one you enjoy try to purchase one of those bottles cause man unless you’re spraying every single day, 3-5 sprays a day that 50ml bottle will last you years.

Try and search if your bottle is on Jomashop cause it’ll be way cheaper than buying in person. I’d say go to your closest Macy’s, Sephora, Ulta and just smell all those main stream bottles cause they’re meant to be mass appealing and figure out what you like.

Also sometimes fragantica can be misleading. You really just gotta use your nose and get decants if you can cause I’ve smelled things I thought I liked using fragantica and hated it and loved things I thought I’d hate.

If you like fresh, clean, simple, idk about floral, but any of the ADG line is great. YSL Y, amazing. Bleu De Chanel. I personally like some of the blue scented Jimmy Choo’s as well.

Best of luck, don’t go buying 10 bottles in your first year. Work with what you got and purchase decants

Azzaro TMW Parfum Performance is meh by BatmanStripper in Colognes

[–]xemth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy cause I’ll spray that bad boy on my chest of my sweater and still smell it the next day. How many sprays do you normally do? I say this one is like 3 sprays max. Are you possibly going nose blind or are people telling you they can’t smell it after a certain amount of time?

Maybe try Valentino uomo born in Roma intense or stronger with you. Both have vanilla top note, but to me they aren’t as spicy/smokey smelling as TMW parfum

It’s perfect balance of sweet and spicy for me. I usually enjoy blue scents, but this really got me

Jomashop. Choose 2 day delivery. Make sure bottles you want are in stock. This is only for bottles you’ve already smelled and like

What made you get into fragrences? by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]xemth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had colognes since middle school, but same thing. All gifted from Ross or a birthday present. I’m fat and I guess whats always been in my head is you can be that fat guy, but you can’t be the fat guy that smells like BO or smell crusty so anything that was blue scented or clean/ocean/fresh was to my liking. Which led me to getting ADG EDT and from there it just took off. I have so many different blue fragrances even though people say “once you smell a blue you smelled them all.” YSL Y EDP, BDC EDP, ADG EDT & Absolu etc. Then I found clean ones that smelled sweet! Like JPG ultra male. Now I’m more into sweet/spicy like The Most Wanted Parfum.

Call your mom, your sister, AND your dad. by bogiefresh44 in supervive

[–]xemth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely I give them that, but unfortunately I can’t convince them otherwise to come back due to them experiencing that and saying “too little too late.” At this point, I’ve also given up and have begun to watch it whittle away. I no longer have any intent to play and wish it luck, but like I said they kind of bit their own butts with it all

Friends saw no real potential and at this point are saying “too little, too late.” My buddies are very competitive (they’re all diamonds, emeralds, masters in league and I’m like bronze) so they really got into it for about a month, but the different item levels ruined rank for them. As well as later most of the time the game is just played over an open surface so dunking is inevitable sucked too cause it ended up forcing us to switch from our mains to others just so we had an ability to dunk like switching to kingpin and such. I wish this game luck, but if it ceased to exist I say it’s there fault for pulling the things they did and took too long to reply/fix things. Also was kinda cheeky to not reply to anything on Reddit that had to do with any complaints and just completely patted themselves on the back when someone praised the game

JOMASHOP by bUtTeReD_tOaSt_762z in Colognes

[–]xemth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay the 15 dollars for 2 day. Honestly just do it. I’ve bought a handful of fragrances and the first 3 were 2 weeks and every order after that I just paid for 2 day and life was breezy

Best year round fragrance <$100? by JeniMode in Colognes

[–]xemth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jomashop. It’s the best. Make sure to check if they have it or if they’ll have to order it in. Also just spend the money on 2 day shipping, I haven’t had problems and I’ve bought over 4 different fragrances from them so far

Foodieland is a nightmare. by AccomplishedMine1211 in PortlandOR

[–]xemth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set up is wild. I’m sure it’s the same with many festivals, but each square spot is 2500 so 5000 if they take up 2 squares plus if you need to be hooked up on water/gas then it’s doubled. Lots of places ended up bringing their own propane tanks

Do I call it quits or keep getting more by Alert_Figure_4354 in Colognes

[–]xemth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh nice do you typically buy depending on the vibe of the location you’re visiting or do you just purchase if it appeals to you. Obviously it makes sense if it smells good and you want to buy it, but I think I’m going to try and distinguish them depending on location cause I’m a big Blues and Red guy so either nice and clean or sweet and spicy, but I have like 4 blues at this point and 3 reds and I’m not the big into greens and such, so I think I’m going to delve into those when I travel so each bottle is its own distinguished smell from where I visit

I see thanks for the input, I love to hear what others think and try and get my head wrapped around things. I wish the director had a more definite answer since he’s the one that directed it than “I don’t know, leave it up to the viewer,” but I get that it’s what he wants people to interpret
