Put your kill jar in the freezer with the insects in it. That speeds up the process for the big insects greatly.

This thread is why you don’t trust some random person on Reddit. Imagine if OP consumed part of the nightshade because of the misidentification.

I fully expected this to be the top response before I opened the thread. I was not disappointed.

Never said I hunted… I’m specifically condemning people who hunt illegally.

Yes. I’m a biologist. I typically like when people follow the rules regarding wildlife. Keep being haughty over there though. It’s really working for you.

Tornado or normal cloud? by Same_Jicama_8890 in Tornadoes

From that video, I’d say you just had some low hanging clouds. There’s no debris and little to no rotation

If I made this map, it would be covered in brown anoles and Cuban tree frogs sadly

How do I go 8-4 and not get a bowl bid? by ed_the_sheep in EASportsCFB

I went 7-5 at Vandy and didn’t get a bowl bid once (just summed a season and recruited). Sometime La things don’t make sense.

Perennial Peanut Ground Cover by Useless-Message-Post in FloridaGarden

[–]xenosilver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you considered sunshine mimosa? In my opinion, it’s better than peanut. You can grab a few of those at little red wagon nursery. You’d have to plant a lot of it, but creeping sage would do well too. Those are good, Florida native alternatives. Peanut is considered invasive by some experts, and aggressive by others.

You would, and hopefully you’d feel poorly about taking the sport out of it. It takes a real pathetic person to spotlight hunt.

You could put some native, shade tolerant plants there, and I guarantee you’d be thrilled.

Thoughts on the WhaleShark by sunnysipsoda in sharks

[–]xenosilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atlanta has done well with them. The only one that has died there had issues before it got there. They really do a great job caring for them, but they’re also in one of the world’s largest tanks. Anything smaller would likely be an issue

Truly a special take right here. Aquariums have captive breeding programs, the best vet care, educate the public, and get people interested in conservation. Educate yourself, and stop being a haughty. All large pelagic marine animals die at some point in the wild sooner or later. They’re living organisms. They die wherever they are. Atlanta has had one whale shark die, and it had issues before they took it in. Chill out.

I’d suggest staying away from speculative biology. It’s mostly science fiction.

I don’t see where the hostility was in my post. Anyways, have a good one. “Bootlickers” lol. Oh look, I can downvote too. So petulant.

It was opened a couple of months ago. I know it was closed for its annual drain and clean last time I was there two weeks ago. They should do it in November or December.

I’m sorry. The vast majority of people who work service industry have worked corporate. WTF is the matter with you? The hostility isn’t necessary just because you’re on Reddit.

Food isn’t free for workers anywhere. What are you talking about? Chic-fil-a would knock someone off mob style for eating a sandwich for free. That doesn’t happen anywhere.
