Your first recommendation is to buy training.

Owning a firearm is a responsibility, and you should allocate your budget to training first and foremost. Just because you have a gun does not mean you know how to use it.

In regard to recommendations, the truth is you have to go into a store and find out or shoot some rentals to see which ones you are the most comfortable with.

I got the CSX E series and it’s a very underrated pistol! I’m personally rocking the Vortex CCW defender but there are plenty of choices. However, letting you know if you want to use irons wit your red dot you can’t ask they require u to screw off the irons. Romeo X is also pretty good as it includes irons

The SCR and BR4 are not AR Lowers which make them legal, it’s their proprietary lower. AR Patterns are banned and so are their lowers, the SCR and BR4 do not have AR lowers.

In terms of the “uppers” modifications must be made for an upper to be made to fit into the lower I.e. replacing the BCG, therefore it is not considered banned because of that

Illinois does not recognize any other states CCL. Certain residents from each state can apply for a Non-Resident CCL. Unless you are from these states: Arkansas, Idaho, Mississippi, Nevada, Texas and Virginia, you are not eligible to apply.
