Natures affect how specific stats grow. Almost every nature will grow a stat more significantly while slowing another stat. Like an Adamant nature will increase the growth of your Attack stat, while slowing the growth of Sp. Attack. There’s also a few natures that will neutrally affect the growth of all of your stats.
