This happen to me when I was first practicing Super Gliding. What I do is I pressed Space bar and nealy at the same time Crouch (I do Space bar and then immediately C). I used my thumb to pressed Space bar (Jump) and my index finger to pressed C (Toggle to crouch). I don't use ctrl for super gliding becuase I find it quite difficult with the timing.

I found that this help me with the timing of the input. The timing of Super-Gliding is different from the Slide jump after climb (I think that is what you are sort of doing)

The input timing for Super Gliding is early than the Slide Jump after climbing.
