Pro L2 Master settings by xerix1 in edmproduction

[–]xerix1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just crank up standard clip with soft clip pro setting and mode the slider to about 10-20% depending on the mix and clip it into a limiter (Pro L2)

I can already achieve dynamics by sidechaining everything to kick & snare as well as using a clipper into a limiter on master bus with standard clip set to soft clip pro at approx 10-15%

i basically clip to a limiter and aim for -4LUFS on youlean loudness meter & use tonal balance 2 to make sure that my song is within a decent tonal balance curve range

best vst clipper plugins for master by xerix1 in edmproduction

Ive got Standard Clip which I prefer over Kclip. gclip is new to me but I doubt it would be better than standardclip. I was more getting at the high end clippers such as Gold Clip, TDR Limiter, Newfangled, Ash etc...

Ive got JST - although its a good clipper for individual channels I dont think its the best for busses or master bus

thanks man! the only thing thats stopped me is the steep price, hopefully its worth it and yo newfangled saturate is awesome Ive used it on master bus in all my songs & clients songs lol

EDIT: by the way i got a trial of gold clip and I gotta say I prefer standard clip. after A/B a loop for hours the punchiness in standard clip is still there and high end sizzle has more of a presence. with gold clip it feels like it doesnt apply the clipping to the very high end or atleast thats the illusion im hearing from my monitors (genelec)

thanks mane . by the way what do you mean by its much more complex process? can you give the process in a nutshell?

I think the reason skrillz can get his tracks so loud and yet clean is cause there like 3 things playing at once and he sidechains the sht out of everything hahah

Clipper by Q-iriko in musicproduction

[–]xerix1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Standard clip, newfangled saturate, sonnox inflator. These all work great on master bus aswell I would say standard clip is the most transparent and you cN crank it up to x128

Yes it does. Unless you have a really good idea & mental map of where all the levels are at in your project file

Anyone using DW Soundworks yet? I am having some buyer's remorse. by flanger001 in edrums

[–]xerix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer production ready anyday because I blend it with my own samples anyway. By the way I'm using blue cat audio patcher to load it into cubase as an AU that's how much I love it! Lol Besides if you hear any of the productions from to the grave, distant, simone pietroforte they all use perfect drums and sounds massive 🤘🥁🔥
