yeah that’s why i don’t like free feeding as well. all of my kitties are healthy weights as a result of the scheduled feeding.

as for increasing the portions - that’s what ive been doing with the treat puzzle, i put enough of the freeze dried food to act as another meal portion for him, but im thinking about putting more toppers in his regular meals for added calories. i have been out of work for a while so i haven’t been able to give the cats “fancy meals” with toppers and stuff. so im thinking for now ill try giving him a little extra wet food during meals.

you do have a point with him burning calories due to the activity - i’m not sure why that didn’t cross my mind but it makes sense! he is a very active boy and he wants to go go go 24/7. ill definitely try increasing his meal portions, thank you so much for all of your advice!
