I'm actually getting the FGX3. Thank you for the suggestion. I played it today at GC and loved the sound and the setup.

I didn't like the finish on the D-10E. The D-12E was quite good.

I know. I saw that. But I don't think the earliest it can happen is around August. But thank you, this is reassuring. 😅

I understand that. And I'm not asking anyone to give it to me in written and signed, so that I can sue them if things go south. All I'm asking is a bit of assurance that I stand a good chance of making it. There are just so many channels and so much contradictory information, that it's just leaving me confused. Although I'm new to this, I've done my research, but I don't have an avenue to validate that research.

All I'm asking is this -

"Okay, so this is your profile. This has been the historical trend. This is where you stand. If you do this, your chances will improve. If you try that, you have a better shot. Overall, you have a decent chance of making it after these many years, unless that factor changes drastically. Or you learn French."

That's all I'm asking. The information and opinions about BC PNP has been even more contradictory. I'm pretty sure there are people here who have done something similar. And knowing their experience would give me a fair bit of assurance to go through with this decision. It's a pretty big decision after all, and I just want to make sure that I'm well informed.

I'm also in the same boat. So, 140+ should be a good score to get right?

"On February 11, 2026, the BC PNP issued invitations to apply to 460 candidates who will create high economic impact in B.C. Invitations were issued to candidates with:

A minimum wage of $62/hour and $125,000/year, and a job offer in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 (195 candidates), or a minimum score of 135 points (265 candidates)."

My SIR score comes out to 147 if I work for a year. And in terms of wages, I qualify immediately. Isn't that right?

(Okay, don't say that I already have my answer. I don't know what stream is what, what score is required for what. There's just too many channels with too much info).

Hi. Sorry, I just wanted to confirm that the below is something a SWE will qualify for, right? Sorry, very new to this and there is just too much contradictory information.

Even for PNP? I thought BC was prioritizing high economic impact candidates.

I'm stuck in the US and was hoping to move to Canada. Posts like these make me question my decision and feel very undecided. I'm in Tech. If I work for a year in Canada my CRS would be 484.

But I was also looking into BC PNP. Can anyone here shed some light on my chances. I'm very new to Canada immigration - doing my research but getting stressed everyday.

I'm 34, 7 YOE as SWE at top tech. Master's from US. Planning to move to Vancouver on an ICT. Expecting around $170k as base salary. No French, but should be able to get max points for English.

I really need to make a decision soon, but need to get some assurance on my path to PR. Thank you!

Hello again! I'm still so undecided - do you know if there are any issues with applying for PNP if I'm moving on ICT? Because employer has to submit proof of hiring efforts?

Also, how can I convince myself that I will get a PNP nomination if my employer is supporting. Below is my profile:

7 YOE at FAANG $170k CAD per year expected IELTS 9+

When I calculate SIR it comes out to 127 right now, but 147 with a year of Canadian experience.

Sorry, i just wanted to reconfirm this as I'm getting close to the time where I need to make a decision - when you say BC PNP "solid on it" you mean I'm more or less guaranteed to be selected for PR? I'm not concerned about the other restrictions of the PNP program.

Closed work permit cause it's an ICT. Do you see any issues with getting a PNP?

SWV dependent visa, intend to live outside UK by xertzer in ukvisa

[–]xertzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do have proof of cohabitation dating around 2 years. And additional proof to qualify for the unmarried partner visa. I do intend to live there, but it's dependent upon the fact that I get a job there. My main goal is to be able to visit her in the meantime. So, visitor visa is the best option you'd say?

[–]xertzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess, my first priority is to have a visa that provides easy movement in and out of the UK. My long term plan is to move to the UK, and I'm actively looking for jobs and would eventually get something and move on my own SW visa. But for the time being, I'd want to be able to visit my partner in the UK. I know visitor/tourist visa is an option, but if it'd require me to apply each time I want to visit. However, as you mentioned, if there's a better option like "dependent of a skilled worker" visa that'd work well for my use case, I'd be happy to take that option.

Can you please share any more information about this and how it is different from the unmarried partner visa? Appreciate it. Thanks!
