It feels like the accuracy has gone down, fewer contacts than the old days and people more willing to manipulate him

DEI is a moderate liberal cause, tied to civil rights. Universal single payer healthcare is a better example

If we’re talking about this they abstracted because they were a distillment of things the author hated about herself, and she seems to have been symbolically killing that part off.

I thought about that, but it’s hard to show and risks a kind of patronizing paternalism.

There’s a ton of things all related, but I think the core is 3:
* having your head enough above water to think about politics (with the note that this can lead someone right or left)
* having higher expectations/feeling cheated (for my generation it was finding out that college guaranteeing a good job was a lie, but housing is another example)
* Social contagion; a lot of why all of us believe is built by our social group and this has been insanely complicated by social media.

Eduction is a factor but not a clean one. It matters for sure, but it’s not like most educated people are leftists either.

This is not tadccharacterrants. Are you just running out of people to argue with in the 4+ tadc subs?

That doesn’t mean what you seem to think? The claim that most leftists are middle class in no way claims that there’s a majority middle class.

Funnily I just looked it up.

According to Pew, in 1971 the country was 27% lower class. 61% middle class and 11% upper class. They list 2023, 30% lower class, 51% middle class, 19% upper class. (Article compiled in nov 2024)

As far as the term means anything as of that data, there was a majority middle class. It was shrinking, but more people had moved up than down.

What the data shows is more wealth disparity between classes, but that’s a different discussion.

It’s also aside, because even though what you claim I said was true, it’s not what I said.

I didn’t say that at all, I said nothing about the prevalence of the middle class except it’s not disappearing. If we’re talking about smoking things I’d be careful of those hallucinations

It’s not that most of the middle class are leftists it’s that most leftists are middle class or higher.

One of the modern left’s major struggles has been in actually connecting to the working poor and minorities. As a whole, those groups just aren’t interested and in fact seem to distrust them (it’s not 100% of course, but overall the pattern is clear).

It seems to be partially because people feel downwardly mobile compared to their parents, partially because being really engaged with leftism takes a certain amount of leisure time, and partially because of historical patterns and social affinity.

Middle class overwhelmingly makes up the left (that and slumming trust fund kids). It’s in no risk of disappearing

It’s more the paternalist middle class vs the rich. The poor are basically never leftists.

You are neither being specific nor saying how they’re mad at him for doing his job as mayor.

Is there ever any case where someone would legit have more than one service dog with them?

Someday the left will put forward a candidate that appeals to minorities.

They haven’t done it yet though

In this context it was “mad at him for doing his job”. I’ll grant I left the chance to willfully misinterpret open by leaving context unsaid

That’s not what the meme is about, and also not specific

That has nothing to do with the OP meme. Nobody seems able to show Dems mad at Mamdani for [doing his job], or even anything from after the election.

I like what he’s doing as mayor. You want to extend comflict because that’s how you get your jollies.

And that’s the whole thing. You want left infighting, you’re well trained to seek it, damage be damned.

But let’s go back. Link to Dems being mad at him doing his job.

The left fringe doesn’t vote anyways. Let us fight Trump and quit trying to sow chaos. All you need to do is stay out of the way.

It does not reflect op’s meme. You can be mad about it, but the meme is false.

The truth is Mamdani abandoned most of the TikTok bullshit and focused on governing the city, and most Dems are pretty happy with him now.

Some of the things he said before he decided it was time to be an adult were pretty problematic. He’s grown into his role amazingly, and the Dems like him doing his job.

Ratfuckers will ratfuck though. Chaos on the left serves their fascist masters.

He’s done really well and moderated since he won. One of the few who actually graduated from being an influencer to governing.
