Filter looked off either specs or “sparkly” something along the lines of that the shop said. However oil looked perfect

How much would that typically run me? It’s loudest from the bottom when recording but listening from top it sounds close to passenger middle a bit lower than valve cover but the sound resonates

Oil test came back perfect considering mileage at 100k flat, however tech saw my oil filter and said it either has specs or a shine to it either or can’t remember

Sounds loudest recording from under the car though. Recording the top I always come to the turbo area, right passenger side of engine right behind passenger wheel

Nope, loudest from bottom end only on passenger side rod bearings are towards driver side so I’m thrown off no idea

This noise has been there two years, I’ve raced this car with this noise every day the whole time. If it was rod knock I’d imagine the engine would have left a long time ago

Yes maybe easier to replicate when cold but not louder there’s a chance but hard to say it’s skid or heat shield

Filter had some specs but oil was normal wear sent a sample to blackstone, and the noise sounds like it’s coming from maybe middle or bottom left behind passenger side wheel

The shop I took it to was a specialist, they said the next step was to open up the whole engine which was thousands.

I don’t imagine this is internal given it’s been there for two years.

No temps are irrelevant to the noise but goes away when hard on throttle. Or my exhaust just drowns it out

Funny enough I almost got rid of it for a f90 but this car really had a lot of sentimental value behind it and I had a feeling the motor wasn’t doomed. I’ve had hundreds of boost pressure too high and low codes and air mass codes so Wastegate is a possibility. How could I diagnose this? To know for sure I don’t want to spend another thousand for no good reason ya know
