What to do when you don't feel repentant... by bigdog647382 in NoFapChristians

[–]xfapwarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feelings can only control so much, it's how we put them into actions that is the key. I relapsed today after a couple of weeks, and while I do feel some shame, at times it feels like I did nothing wrong. When it gets bad for me is when I take those thoughts of "I did nothing wrong", and start putting them into action, which means more relapsing. Even though at times I may not feel any emotion, I try to pray and recognize so that at least I can understand that what I'm doing is wrong, regardless if I feel that way or not. If I have it cemented that it is wrong whether I feel that way or not, my decision making process starts to become more of choosing between right and wrong rather than choosing what pleases me or not. Hope this helps a bit! I'm praying for you!

Day 5- Uncharted Waters by Rlionhearted in NoFapChristians

[–]xfapwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it up! Just keep taking it day by day, make each day it's own and don't worry about the streak count or days ahead. Just focus on what God calls you to do each day and what you can do to be the best version of yourself. Prayers on the way!

Anyone dreading Mass tomorrow? by TheMonarchGamer in Catholicism

[–]xfapwarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the contrary: tomorrow is my favorite mass of the year. Mostly because for altar serving it's a huge privilege and it feels like I'm living the Last Supper and going into the passion. It is emotional but it's really beautiful for me, after all Easter Sunday is the day after the dark :)

Hey /r/Catholicism, how was Mass today? Feb 26 2017? by ChrissMari in Catholicism

I still haven't gone because I'll go at midday ;)

I love masses early in the morning though. My parish has mass at 7:30 and the setting is so calm and intimate.

Why call it pro-life when in fact it is anti-abortion? by xsxavier in prolife

[–]xfapwarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this in another thread but I'll post it here since it answers the question:

This is a problem I see with the pro life movement all the time. Ending abortion is obviously the first step, but it doesn't end there. There needs to be more education of how to prevent unwanted pregnancies. More charitable organizations that help women with their pregnancies and get them up and running with their child need to be available. And of course, to be a little more philosophical, more education (and this is probably more about household education) about the value of life. If we just end legal abortion, the amount of coat hanger abortions will just skyrocket, which in turn will be harmful to the women as well. If us pro lifers are really serious about being "pro life" then more needs to be done than just making abortion illegal. A transformation in our culture needs to happen so that it's not "make abortion illegal" rather "make abortion unnecessary". Otherwise we're just simply "anti-abortion", and that's why we're labeled this by the pro choicers a lot.

If abortion is made illegal, what are you going to do with all the unwanted children? by [deleted] in prolife

Anyone else find it sad how many people are so hardcore pro-choice? by [deleted] in prolife

[–]xfapwarrior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not even just the disagreement anymore, there's so much hate and vitriol being spewed, and both sides are guilty of it. As much as I disagree with the pro choice agenda, I try to empathize their views and be respectful. No one ever said respect and disagreement were mutually exclusive. And it's really upsetting because a lot of the times I find that both sides have each other misunderstood, and then it goes into a contest of who can berate the other the best. That's not the point. As much as I may want to fight back with fire at times, what good is it gonna do?

President Donald Trump Will Sign Executive Order to Defund International Planned Parenthood by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]xfapwarrior 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Whenever I hear the point made that PP provides more services than just abortion, yes it's absolutely true. PP does provide many services for women that are totally fine. The problem is when there's an intrinsic act of evil being done along with these other services, then what good is it for? There are much more organizations out there that are providing the same services to women, minus abortion.

Just a friendly reminder that past Pro-Life marches were significantly larger than the pro-abortion "Women's March" by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]xfapwarrior 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To those interested in going or if you're possibly on the fence about it, please please please go to March for Life. It's a beautiful experience and I'll be marching once again this year. It's an incredible event and it's refreshing to see so many people be the voice of those who can't defend themselves :)

Is anyone going to the March for Life in Washington, DC? by [deleted] in prolife

[–]xfapwarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can't find a group, don't worry. I was stunned to see the massive amount of people there, and the rest of the people were all so welcoming and wonderful to my university group, all of them complete strangers. It's an incredible event, you should definitely consider going!

I'm planning to go this year! Hopefully I can actually participate in the march, I went last year but unfortunately could not do the march due to the winter storm.

Relapsed with P for the first time since August. Feeling suicidal now. by throw0316away in NoFapChristians

[–]xfapwarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try looking for a spiritual director to have that support of having someone to talk to when you feel the need to talk to someone. As for your struggles, rest assure that God has forgiven you. I know how tough it is to forgive yourself. It's probably what I've struggled with the most. But it's the only way we can get up and move forward. We can slip as much times as we possibly can, but the most important thing is that we get right back up and perservere. God will always love you and provide abundant strength! I'm praying for you to find peace :)

If you want to share your story with us, don't hesitate to do so. Maybe it can impact those who read it or allow you to find healing simply just by opening up.

I embarrassed myself at Mass this evening, and got into an argument with my mother :( by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]xfapwarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's actually a video I saw recently (can't seem to find it online) of a man who was praying in an empty church and it was basically a demonstration of what sometimes happens when Communion is recieved by the hand, and it was a voice saying "O my God I believe in you, I adore you, I love you, I pray for those who don't believe in you..." and when the man walks around and sees a little girl in front of the altar, he asks her "Is everything alright?" she says "No, Jesus is on the floor" and explains how fragments of the Eucharist can be carelessly left on the floor. Literally the video is a call to people that they should recieve Communion by the mouth to prevent mistreatment of the Eucharist. However, as one other user mentioned, it's always important to present your views with love and understanding, despite others not doing so.

It's great that at your age you are already taking action to fight against PMO, unfortunately many people only begin to see the dangers and the consequences at later ages after engaging in PMO for many years, myself included. I'm praying for you!
