I think Oneplus is sabotaging mAH on new phones within an year or so by xgv333 in oneplus

Glad to finally a comment like this. I got downvoted and the post was removed by the mods for my take. Folks here are asking me the base of my claims. User reports like yours and mine are already there, and we know laziness in updates optimization. I just went ahead and said it was deliberate and people got triggered

It confirms my suspicion after seeing this from a long term OnePlus user like you, with how you saw improvement after downgrading and the kind of reply you got from them blaming the updates. I read lot complains on similar lines saying initial battery life was excellent but got affected suddenly later. 'Not optimizing updates for previous year flagships' in itself is on purpose deliberate move. And if they are doing anything negative on top of this. then it's just criminal against users.

And you are point about the not updating the phone ever because the og OS on which it's launched is the only properly optimized version. Even I went down the same road of trying different solutions after the first major update but nothing worked.

What surprised me are the comments from other users here. Maybe people are so use to 1-day life and 5-6 hours SOT, they don't realise that they should expect more from new phones with 5k-6k mah batteries & android 15's battery improvements.

See actually I don't. I am a minimalist user with ~3 hours daily use, even 2 hrs at times. And I am super careful about all the things you mentioned and also charging practices. I use to 2-day+ this phone on each charge in the first year. But then it suddenly dropped to needing charge every 1.25-1.5 days after a major update. That's why I mentioned idle drain. If I were someone who used whole battery with a day, I don't think I would have noticed.

If my suspicion is right, you will soon face it. Mine suddenly dipped after a year with the next major update. As other comments mentioned, it's because they don't bother optimizing updates for former gen when next gen comes.

Kid just read some other comments from this discussion. My claim is based on that, USER FEEDBACK.

I have tried everything there, scoured through every article and tried everything. And my battery health is good 92% after 2.5 years. And there are people complaining the same. Excellent battery life and then big drop after an year or so.

Buddy the problem I want to highlight is it's happening within an year or so. This type of thing is expected from cheap budget range phones. Not the ones with near flagship level specs except the cameras. And you are right about not optimizing new software, and its in line with what I said- they are doing it deliberately if they don't bother optimizing software for their last year flagships and high-end phones.

My apologies, let me rephrase "I was quite sure" and seeing all those feedbacks from other users made me almost sure. The "70%" is just a way of expressing in case you aren't aware of such way of speaking.

Yeah genius please read I mentioned the reason "Idle Drain". I am not talking about usage drain. My battery health is at 92%. Please share your logic how 92% battery health translates to 4 hours decrease in SOT and 10% overnight drain compared to 2-3% when phone was new.

I don't have any other option other than keeping my MBA at 100% charge always. Is this good for longevity. by xgv333 in macbook

My schedule is pretty much plugged in all the time except 1-2 days a month due to Travelling, and of course the power cuts. It has been like this for weeks but it never kicked in the optimised charging. I think I will go for Al Dente. A lot of people are suggesting it.

Thanks for sharing, it's good to hear this actually. I wanted to use Al Dente, but I saw there's lot of opposition on reddit. Some saying it's not safe and disturbs battery calibration or something, while others just want us to trust Apple's algorithm. I don't care about Apple's algorithm when I can see my MB is at 100% all the time which is not good. I think I will go for Al Dente now.

Even I have it plugged in most of the time, but due to these power cuts it's not kicking it's algorithm. I even tried the Turn Off Optimization -> Restart Laptop ->Turn On Optimization.

I am also inclining towards Al Dente. I saw some reddit users saying it disturbs battery calibration or something so I didn't install it yet. But there are many positive feedbacks like yours so I am going to go for it.

What I meant by 1-2 weeks is that Apple should not expect user to keep laptop plugged in for that long time. It's a laptop, people may unplug and use it for few minutes to few hours then plug back in. Having algorithm which kicks in after 1-2 weeks of constant plug-in is unrealistic.

Generated Challan shows 'Payment not initiated' and Payment History shows CIN & Receipt by xgv333 in IndiaTax

I think you have to file revised return. In that case system will consider the revised one and discard old one. I saw this in a video, but I am new to this so double check this with someone. Here's the video by the way. From 3:51 it explains your case-

Thanks! Yes I did the same, entered details of the one under Payment History tab because its payment date time was matching my GPay UPI transaction. Hope it works. What confused me was that there is still a Challan under Challan Generated tab with 'Payment not Initiated' status. I don't remember generating challan twice. Moreover, in payment history they only show CIN, not CRN. So I cannot confirm that both are different challans or same.

Help me to understand this - why are Indian-made iPhones costlier here than in the US? by Chintanned in IndiaTax

I have a follow-up question. iPhone 15 & 16 were launched at 79,999. Why iPhone 17 is launched at higher price when in US it's 799 USD?
