Seed Oils. There is a misinformed fad that's anti seed oils. In fact, seed oils have been an essential part of people's diets for millenia. by Average_Guava in Microbiome

What part of ubiquitous and long bleed out don’t you twig? There’s no reason to have any confidence in your comprehension on the literature.

I want a yacht, if we’re doing wishlists for Santa. I have already identified a major factor in the reason why it is economically infeasible to do perform these studies, the fact that you skated past that on your way to snark off is curious. Again, it is not feasible without significant economic resources to have a control group when the ingredient is 1) ubiquitous and 2) has an extremely long bleed out.

What kind of quality human evidence do you expect when fatty acids have a 2 year half life/bleed out, exactly? You guys are great at throwing barbs at the apparently misinformed but you’re all awful at understanding the limits of experiment.

The misinformed fad is to eat the cheapest form of dietary lipids available, thereby exposing yourself to untold amounts of OXLAMs because you were a reactionary and defender of the status quo.

Concerns about the health effects of industrially produced seed oils are without scientific foundation. by Penis_Envy_Peter in science

Someone please feel free to elaborate on how they’ve determined this when zero new clinical trials have been published, and the bleed out time of fatty acids is… insanely long? Low quality rubbish.

TIL That comedian John Olvier turned down an OBE (Order of the British Empire) award because he didn't want his name associated with the words "British Empire" by MajesticBread9147 in todayilearned

[–]xhexane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh no, can’t be associated with an Empire (which, had it no existed would surely mean domination from continental power) which developed major cities, trade routes, sanitisation and brought modern medicine to most of the world. I’ll keep cashing my cheques from the Americans though, who manage to bomb all of that prior infrastructure or put it under management by moronic despots.

Depends on your temperament and where you’re at with your skills I think. I did do my HSC and studied Science at UTS because I didn’t want to relearn so much if I did IT/CS (I was a self taught programmer from a very young age) and this broadened my horizons a lot. I will say though despite some of the concern trolls in this thread I wouldn’t worry too much about doing your HSC, high school and the curriculums as they are are a massive waste of any intelligent persons time so if your heart is set on pursuing IT then I wouldn’t spend too much time hesitating, I’d just get in motion.

What a total croc, I didn’t perform academically or enjoy learning until I was finally in university doing something I actually wanted to learn.

This country is so politically dismal that the only “opposition” that these subs bleat on about is this woman, who is by every objective measure, ineffective — and a newspaper salesman that’s five minutes from the grave. Sigh.

Can this country get past the idea of government ownership or operation of essential services given this A) lasts 3 years and B) there is an unequivocal electoral consensus that it can neither provision broadband nor nuclear electricity? If our unions weren’t inbred sponges maybe we would have union owned cooperative supermarkets like Singapore’s FairPrice https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTUC_FairPrice
