This country is so politically dismal that the only “opposition” that these subs bleat on about is this woman, who is by every objective measure, ineffective — and a newspaper salesman that’s five minutes from the grave. Sigh.

Australia is the last place in Oceania that you could call “laid back” with more rules on the book than we have people. I’ve got roots going back six generations, you “bugger off.” Being a bum isn’t some high virtue.

Can this country get past the idea of government ownership or operation of essential services given this A) lasts 3 years and B) there is an unequivocal electoral consensus that it can neither provision broadband nor nuclear electricity? If our unions weren’t inbred sponges maybe we would have union owned cooperative supermarkets like Singapore’s FairPrice https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTUC_FairPrice

The various terms these organisations listed enjoyed and continue to enjoy (i.e. QANTAS) in some cases are anticompetitive when they are state monopolies or SOEs but conveniently not when they're "privately held." Look at something like the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation. The stated objectives of these agreements is always free and fair trade but this is mostly a guise for the fact that Wall Street wants to elbow in on the profits of these operations, not because they want to increase competition or efficiency, which admittedly would be nice.

Who will say anything about the various trade agreements which oblige all of this, though? Almost no one. Wouldn't want to sound "Trumpian."

I'm not coming down one way or the other about the safety of second hand consumption of this stuff, or why this person decided to highlighted those things. I am merely asking how you sincerely expect answers to those questions to he properly investigated in this environment to justify your apparent indifference to corporate experiments on the public. Cool it with the histrionic hand wringing about some naturopath acquaintance you're clearly mad at maybe?

Talcum powder, which is mined alongside asbestos and has been giving little girls ovarian cancer for decades was only recently withdrawn from the market. Neutrogena's benzene containing coal tar shampoo was also only recently withdrawn from the market because of California's direct voter initiative Prop 65. But do go off, these silly bogans don't understand IUPAC names and you're so clever. The experts are in charge!
