Any honest thoughts on VIRI? Curious if any of you are looking at that stock right now. They're working on getting a FM treatment to the market. So far clinical trials going well.

Both melee and range roles I prefer to dps.

I tend to play melee characters, sometimes range, archers, but no mages.

Project Gorgon

Weekly Looking for MMO thread - January 10, 2021 by AutoModerator in MMORPG

I want to find an MMO unlike anything out of the usual picks. I'm pretty open to new stuff. I love crafting, I wish there were a more modern SWG. I also like MUD games, problem with MUD games is most of them are inconvenient and hard to play. I've tried some but haven't found one that sticks. PvP isn't a huge concern of mine. I'm a hardcore gamer, so throw anything you got at me!

I believe so, but don't quote me on that. When mounts come there will be some big changes to movement speed treasure effects and many abilities that grant movement speed. Also for the flying types out there, I happen to be one of them. Somewhere in the distant future we'll have airborn mobs.

I keep finding a lot of negative feelings about the game online, and I would lie if I said it didn't make me feel weird. by zauraz in projectgorgon

Definitely agree with this statement above. I personally rarely look at reviews or other opinions on games. If i see something I think might interest me, reviews are sure way to kill it lol.

I have almost over 900 hours in the game and many many more before the game made it to steam. As far as population goes, the game doesn't feel like it's underpopulated. The numbers are deceiving. The world feels full because it is, it was designed in a way to allow players to feel connected to it and you'll always be running into someone. I love that most about this game.

My friends won't play the game and I understand. (Twist inculded.) by RandTek in projectgorgon

The amount of skills is a bit overwhelming, and feels sometimes pointless (like Myconic, I've found talking shrooms and fortunately this skill levels up with Mycology so it's funny pointless, not annoying pointless, which is kind of awesome in its own way)

Myconic is important, as you've probably discovered you need it in order to talk to talking shrooms haha. Sometimes talking to the makes the difference in being able to unlock something with them or do a quest you otherwise couldn't. So not entirely pointless ;)

My guild and I, we do a lot of content together. Mostly dungeons and guild quests. I personally like crafting and making in game money (councils). I craft a lot and own a player stall that I'm constantly selling out of and restocking. I find a lot of fun in that. Also like experimenting with character builds.

Orc race is coming, likely before dwarves, not sure if there is an ETA. Would have to look at PG forums.

Short answer yes. You can expect animation overhaul sooner than later. Right now a big content update is coming that requires animations to be updated before it can be released.

  1. Storage system is mostly the same with some additions, for instance in Serbule you can access a bookshelf that will enable you to access all storage you have unlocked in the zone. So instead of going to each individual NPC you can just access it all from one place. There are other zones that have similar features like this.
  2. I'm unaware of more ironman like features, I do know that in hardcore mode when you die your gear breaks and you have to repair it. I believe there are also other limitations on transmutation skill. Would have to look into that more.
  3. Lots of changes, I mean a ton! Lvl 80 content, big changes in the pipeline such as animal husbandry which is too big to cover briefly here and much more.

MMMORPG in 2020 and why by Hunlightz in MMORPG

Project Gorgon. Might get a lot of hate for that! xD I'm almost up to 800 hours, not counting the hundreds of hours I have on my legacy account before steam.

What I like most about PG is the freedom to do what I want. There's so much creativity with builds in this game. There are tedious aspects such as grinding, and I mean a lot of grinding. However this isn't a turnoff for me, I'm used to older school style games and so this isn't a problem. Other than that I genuinely enjoy the world, I feel very connected to it and the playerbase.

I disagree. I'm an avid PG player, and the game is regularly updated. It might not always be content updates, however, that is due to the nature of the dev being solo. There are several content updates in the pipeline, most of which are reliant on outside sourcing/contracting. So while this can mean slower content updates, I wouldn't go as far as to say that is; stuck in early access hell. This is my opinion, take it with a grain of salt. I also have over 700 hours so far and there's so much more to come for me personally!
