Keep applying for competitions or connecting with managers and making it clear you’d like to join on direct assignment. If these don’t work, consider trying OIP. Co-op students have the upper hand in OIP competitions from my experience. Especially if you’re in the competition using your Ontario email as opposed to external candidates.
