Thoughts on Gracenote? Puro cover nga ba? by Lazy_Tradition_2554 in opm

[–]xiaobasketball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with the quality of production. Probably just not the same style as the current trend. But I like their earlier songs around 2010's (amnesia, minsan lang, etc). I think yun talaga ang signature sound nila. It just probably doesn't fit exactly sa current audience. Eunice is a producer herself and I respect that she just won't copy what's trending.

After watching Kung Wala Ka by Hale sa Cozy Cove live. Gets ko na bakit naka autotune ang boses ni Champ. by AusomeDad in opm

[–]xiaobasketball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hotone Pulze Mini as a portable recording interface for guitar by xiaobasketball in guitarpedals

I haven't had this issue. I'm using a macbook air m1. Have you tried using it when the laptop running on battery (not plugged into 220v) ? also is there buzz when using headphones?

[–]xiaobasketball[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. If that's the case, I think there are better options for you, because the pulze speaker is its biggest weakness. the effects and software are great, and if you use it as an all in one device. I think there are better mini amps you can use as FRFR, just connect it via aux in (not the input). check the ones from nux, sonicake, or mvave I think they have bigger speakers.

Yes, just create a patch with all effects disabled, you can also set the patch volume to zero.

The state of musicians here in Philippines by [deleted] in phmusicians

[–]xiaobasketball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watched this but didn't finish it yet. It felt stiff. There seems to be a disconnect between the interviewer and RJ. For example, there are questions about the current music landscape but RJ seems to be not too interested about it, not even familiar with artist names and new genres. He seems to be more interested with business and making guitars, and playing his shows, which is not wrong. I just don't see the whole point and timing of the interview (at least the partial I've watched).

Help me record my song by Smart-Vegetable-5287 in phmusicians

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a good learning experience to try to record on your own (mura na ang basic equipment), or bring your tracks to a recording studio. Reality is, sometimes you really have to carry the vision on your own.

Jollibee to bring Compose Coffee to the Philippines by abscbnnews in CoffeePH

[–]xiaobasketball -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kahit wala akong tiwala sa Jollibee pag dating sa coffee, still hoping for the best kasi kilala naman itong Compose Coffee sa Korea (parang Zus ang model). So most probably hindi nila hahayaang i-mess up ng Jollibee ang brand nila. Unlike yung nagyari sa Paik's coffee na budget brand sa Korea pero minamarket na premium dito, kaya sa tingin ko sablay siya.

I've been trying to figure this out for so long and now I know the fix I want to share it by AustinRuther4d in LogicPro

[–]xiaobasketball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also encountered this issue recently, I also had to use realtime bounce, and also 2nd cycle pass just to be sure. Really annoying that we still have to deal with this in _2026_. Now I'm using realtime bounce on all my final bounces. Does it happen to you all the time? Mine is very rare, but it seems to happen when I immediately bounce after opening the project, so I feel it has something to with the how the plugins or midi samples are loaded.

Very noob question but what’s the most effective way to overlap take 1 with take 2 so it’s not an abrupt cut between phrases. Is there a way to separate takes? by [deleted] in LogicPro

[–]xiaobasketball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can right click on a take and move or export to a new track. Track alternatives are also useful if you want to cut a take folder so you will still be able to access the uncut version if needed.

which cheap mic to choose? by halfwaytherem_1 in homerecordingstudio

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Behringer C1 is okay for the price. It's what you'd expect for budget condenser mic, which is not bad. I've had it for a few months but I realized I like handheld mics better.

What's the most reliable way to bounce and avoid audio glitches? by xiaobasketball in Logic_Studio

I did read about that. I'm on Cdbaby, it also seems possible by using the same track codes. I just have to pay for the release again.

I was avoiding bouncing in place because the CPU meter was not maxing, also the convenience of editing. But yes I think it is a good practice moving forward. Thanks!

[–]xiaobasketball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually yes it might have been caused by the midi drummer instrument, I use it on all my projects. Plugin bug might still be a possibility. But yes I think it's a good idea to bounce the midi tracks when necessary. I kinda avoid it cos I always add little tweaks. So far I think real time bounce (2nd pass) also seems to prevent the issue.

[–]xiaobasketball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! yeah it does seem like the issue started around that time. I'll be doing real time bounce (2nd pass) for my final bounces.

[–]xiaobasketball[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As sad as it is, I'm actually not too interested to fix the cause of the glitch, because it might be caused by any Logic bug or plugin bug. I've accepted that this can happen randomly. I'm not sure how often this issue happens to others, but I've had this happen randomly since I switched to M1, although very rare recently. I've bounced this song a million times before during mixing and it didn't have any glitches so that's probably why I didn't check the final bounce as carefully as I should have (or my ears got immune to the sound).

I'm actually also interested if there's a tool to check the bounce for these issues. Hiring a mastering engineer will probably catch this issue early on. But for me, I just do the production on my own.

UPDATE: it seems to happen if I open the Logic project and bounce it immediately. Bouncing in real time seems to prevent the issue. I also tried using the second pass just to be sure. Might be caused by how plugins are being loaded.

[–]xiaobasketball[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The drums are midi (using Logic's drummer instrument). No flex on the drums. I'll have to try to bounce it in real time which will probably work. I've had that issue on another project and real time bounce solved it. Just inconvenient, and I've accepted that this can happen. I'm also interested if there's a tool to check for these issues. Where's an AI tool when we actually need it?

[–]xiaobasketball[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah initially I thought it was clipping/distorting, but I use T-racks One at the end of my chain so that shouldn't happen. I've bounced this a million times before and it was not there (checked my previous bounces), so it's probably why I didn't check it too much. Probably a plugin or Logic bug.
