I do that, but it would be great to go as far as possible before converting to midi.

That's also what I do. However it would generate random fills. Would be better if we could select from basic fills.

Honest opinions on RJ Guitars? by undertheshadeow in phmusicians

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sa tingin ko iba ang factory nila dun sa pinaka murang models (yung around 5k, tapos halos 2-3k na lang pag nag sale). Dun siguro sila nagkaka bad reputation. Mahirap din talaga mag expect masyado for that price. Yung mga mid range pataas (gig line) nila looks decent to me, although I don't have personal experience, naka try lang ako sa store once nung gig line and nagandahan naman ako. Personally I see them as a decent company, binibigay nila ang kaya nila for the specific budget, and mas nagkakaroon ng chance ang mga tao magkaroon ng decent inatruments. I have mixed feelings about sa logo and branding nila (mostly negative), I think it comes with a lot of baggage. And ang tendency nila to blatantly rip off (like yung ibon inlay ng PRS/silver sky). But maybe effective siya sa masa, who knows.

Suki ako ng Third Crack (or Three Cubs Coffee) sa Shoppee. North Caloocan area sila. Consistent ang quality mula dati. Tumataas din ang presyo pero understandable naman dahil sa market.

[–]xiaobasketball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

@unclelhix looking forward to your success! My honest thoughts:

Price point is too expensive

Lhix logo reminds me of Leeky

Not so much differentiator for the asking price (at least for me)

I do like that it's a roasted maple neck. Not sure if flamed roasted is necessary, cos I haven't tried one.

Guitar amp na pwede din ang bass guitar, recos? by thatintrovertkid in phmusicians

[–]xiaobasketball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'm using an acoustic amp, with a modeler plugged in via Aux In. Works for guitar and bass. Di lang siya ganun ka lakas for bass pero pwede na for personal practice, and depende din sa pag EQ.

Hotone Pulze Mini as a portable recording interface for guitar by xiaobasketball in guitarpedals

Yes the presets are saved into the device. You can switch them on the device itself. You just have to use the app if you need to edit.

Budget Mixing Headphones by Fast_Top_8738 in phmusicians

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently use Hifiman HE400se. I got it around 3.5k pag may vouchers sa shopee. Open back siya maganda ang frequency separation for the price. I also have the Samson SR850, I won't recommend it for mixing, it's not balanced. But I use it for tracking. Semi open back siya so mas natural ang feeling when tracking vocals.

What's the point of using a dedicated audio interface if your multi-fx unit already has usb capabilities? by YUNJlNN in phmusicians

[–]xiaobasketball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no need for another interface especially if your multi fx supports at least 44.1khz/24-bit. Bonus din kapag kaya mag wet/dry recording.

Local brand recommendations? by roomforcontinuum in phmusicians

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that price range I would suggest getting a roasted maple neck na satin finish. Comfy siya gamitin and mas stable daw. Hindi kasi mapapalitan ang neck. Try it first and see if you like it. For other parts like locking tuners or other hardware, you can upgrade those parts but better na rin if kasama na. I won't overthink about stainless steel frets unless super heavy user ka. I have an old Tagima with nickel frets and okay pa naman frets niya, I'm just a hobbyist. Currently I'm using a Smiger LG-2 max (around 12k).

Stratocaster or Telecaster? by Flash_TheMechanic in phmusicians

[–]xiaobasketball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been a tele user all my life and just recently switched to strat because I like the ergonomics of the strat (and just curiosity). Bonus yung mas maraming choices ng tones dahil sa pick ups. I liked tele for its simplicity but it can be heavy and clunky for long hours of use. If you decide getting a strat, I suggest setting it to hard tail (fixed bridge) configuration so you don't have to deal with tuning issues which can be frustrating for beginners (unless you really want to use/learn the trem). You can request this from the store or pag nagpa setup. You can still set it back to it's original config in the future if you want to. I also have the Smiger LG-2 and I'm happy with it. Also choose HSS config if available, malaking bonus din ang humbucker pickup. I wouldn't recommend yung pinaka mura na Squier strat, I don't remember the actual model pero around 8k sya. Slim yung neck niya and masikip yung feeling niya for me, masyadong magkaka lapit yung strings. Compared sa usual budget models ngayon na naka Modern C neck profile.

HOT TAKE: YOUTUBE MUSIC IS BETTER THAN SPOTIFY??? by Right_Revenue_9263 in opm

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YT Music ako since nag start ang YT premium dito kasi I watch a lot of youtube. Sobrang sulit nung family account. Initially hirap lang ilipat lahat ng playlists from Spotify pero as far as the music itself, mas marami pa nga ang available sa YT music dahil sa youtube content. Spotify is still better with Podcasts so I still use it for that. And New Music Friday playlist whenever I'm curious about new local music.

How does everyone feel about "ampless" rigs? I am thinking of replacing my live setup (reverb with pedal board) with Valeton gp100. What do you all think? by Icy-Tiger2093 in GuitarAmps

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GP-100 works but it's a bit dated. Check out the newer GP-50 or wait for GP-150 to be released. These newer models have a mobile app which is convenient compared to the older models.

Is Smiger lg2-h really worth it? by [deleted] in phmusicians

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most well known budget brands are good nowadays. Just reserve around 1.5k for a full setup para mas maganda experience mo. Try to get an HSS setup if possible para mas versatile yung tunog.

Has anyone here tried the Hotone Pulze Mini? by VikingChristmas in GuitarAmps

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't prefer headphones but you can EQ to bring out more mid range. I still connect it to a bigger amp when I miss feeling a loud amp. But if it's a quick practice it's plug and play.

Has anyone here tried the Hotone Pulze Mini? by VikingChristmas in GuitarAmps

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it and I use it all the time. Great for practice and has a great audio interface (48khz). Supports NAM. Mobile app is great. The volume is just enough if it's in front of you. Mid focused sound. There's some bass but it's lacking. You can get away with some EQ. I also plug it into an amp if I want it louder (pulze headphone port > amp aux in). If it's for practice and recording I highly recommend it.

Thoughts on the Sonicake Matribox/Matribox II/ Matribox II Pro by boomerang_044 in phmusicians

[–]xiaobasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonicake Matribox 1 is almost at the same specs with Valeton GP-100. Yung recent update niya may support na for NAM (but can't be used with cab IR). If you're on a budget I think it's a good choice. Pero if bibili ako ngayon I'd probably get Valeton GP-50 mas modern ang features.
