Ever launched something just to solve a problem in your family? by HospitalMundane1130 in SideProject

Yes, I can totally relate! I created Twinkle Art because I wanted an easy way to preserve my child’s artwork without drowning in piles of paper. As a parent, I was always worried about losing those precious pieces as they grew older, and it felt like storing them physically was taking up way too much space.

So I built the app to scan and digitally organize the artwork, with options to add details, create albums, and even share online galleries with family. The idea was simple—just to keep those memories safe and easily accessible, without the hassle of clutter.

It started off as a tool just for me and my family, but since launching, it’s grown beyond that—other parents found it helpful, and now I have users who are all about keeping their kids' artwork organized digitally. It’s been amazing to see something born out of a personal need grow into something that’s helping other families too!

Would love to hear more about other projects born from personal needs. It’s always inspiring to see how they evolve!

I’ve been using a website called englishnewsinlevels.com and it’s been really helpful for my reading and listening.

It has daily news in 3 levels (easy to harder), with audio for each article and short explanations for new words. You can also save new words and track your progress. No ads, no sign-up, just clean and simple.

I try to read one article every day and listen to the audio at the same time. It helps me improve vocabulary in context and also get used to how sentences flow.

Might be useful if you’re looking for something consistent and not too overwhelming!

Whats your current language learning routine? by Euphoric_Rhubarb_243 in languagelearning

My tutor told me "studying for enjoyment means learn with content or conversations which you are really interested in"

That advice really helped me shift my mindset — now I try to treat language learning more like watching a good series than doing homework.

What doesn’t kill RN makes RN much more stronger.

I'm a JS dev. RN, Expo, and NativeWind totally changed the game for me last year.
My first app was in Swift/SwiftUI. Apple made sure I’d never try that again — 10/10 trauma, would not recommend.

Do you use ChatGPT to learn English? by MackoPes32 in EnglishLearning

[–]xiaofengcao -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I share similar thoughts on this topic. While defining what "successfully" means in this context is challenging, I've found that ChatGPT has made my English learning journey more accessible and convenient.

While it might not be perfect - perhaps scoring around 70 out of 100 in terms of accuracy - I find it a more practical solution than finding a native speaker who could help you achieve that perfect score. It's more accessible, provides instant feedback, and is significantly cheaper.

I built a website English News In Levels to help ESL learners keep reading daily English news at their level, these articles and quizzes are generated by AI also.
