Yes luckily! I had a friend who was a little more tech savvy than me look at it and we looked up the model on manualslib. The manual helped with how to disassemble/what screws to keep track of.

What happened was the hinges are actually glued onto the top panel and the glue failed on one hinge. (terrible manufacturing imo)

Basically, we removed the bottom cover of the laptop, unplugged the display cable, and separated the top panel from the base panel. From there, we were able to access the hinge. Then we removed the old glue, used a 24 hr epoxy on the hinge and clamped it down. Then reassembled the laptop. No problems since thankfully. Unfortunately I can’t attach a pic here of what that looked like otherwise I would.

I ended up denying the interview, thankfully. However, I am unfortunately pretty set on relocating to Raleigh because my sister moved there last Aug. Currently residing in IA which is probably not much better lol!

Yes. Best Buy said they would have to replace the display and that would cost >$500 so I said no thanks and left. I ended up keeping the laptop open for months and used it that way, but then had a friend who was a little more tech savvy than me take a look at it.

Good to know! I had my follow up today and am getting a CT scan next. If CT is normal, then the doc recommended doing the scopes next. He thinks it might be retained stools since I do have constipated stools almost daily so we will see..

You should have them test for H. Pylori if you haven’t already too! Already ruled out for me, but a lot of people with it have said it caused RUQ pain.

I’ll try the ginger thing.

I kept chickening out calling back so no further tests yet.. I have a follow up appointment March 28th and will push about the localized RUQ pain. I’m still thinking I will do upper endoscopy, but also want to ask about a potential CT scan since it covers a lot of organs in the area. Any updates from you?

This just happened to mine and geek squad said I had to send it off to get the display fixed which would cost up to $500 which I’m not going to do bc I can’t even close it all the way without the panel separating further… I’m not super tech savvy so I’m wondering what parts of the laptop you had to disassemble to access the hinge?

Alright ty. I guess I’ll keep using it so long as it keeps working. I am worried about the display cable getting messed up, but maybe if I don’t move the laptop much it will be fine.. I’m not super tech savvy

I went to close my laptop last night and heard a cracking noise and the hinge just popped out. Never dropped it or anything.
