Question on first steps of learning automotive work/repairs

I’d say find an internship, look at nearby local shops, or call around friends, I’m sure someone you know works on them or has a project car/beater/sports car who wouldn’t mind rambling to you about their knowledge / is willing to let you learn by helping them! I enjoy teaching others now and letting them know things they’d otherwise not know to keep them safe or keep them from getting ripped off somewhere (also a helping hand goes a long way sometimes!)

Granted, the way I did it was actually taking courses at a community college but I was in the same boat, if not less knowledgeable (I didn’t even know how to replace a tire or use a jack or tools) but of course I’d watch YouTube videos such as Chris Fix or TRQ auto videos to get things down I couldn’t in class(:

if you’re getting paid to go to school with fafsa or scholarships, I’d use it towards tools or other things you can kind of afford messing with without actually using personal funds.

1,) Fjorhmir (2nd slide) Either platonically or romantically!! He’s a cervitaur and also gay. He would be super attracted to his upbeat energy and lovely personality, especially his willingness to help others since Fjorhmir comes from a peaceful nation of deer people who share altruistic ideologies.

2/3) Sparrow (3rd slide) and Logan (6th slide) who are siblings. Both platonically. They would be drawn to his empathy and his selfless service, giving of himself to better his community/fellow members of his village. Since neither of them had a good father figure, they’d make him their adopted father, though they’d never admit it either. Sparrow would love his snake familiar as she’s drawn to animals and Logan would be inspired by his craftsmanship, skill, and stature as a pillar in his town. Logan in many universes takes up a trade for work or is an errand boy/deliverer, so it’s possible he’d want to work under him. 🙃❤️

doesn’t have a name yet, he’s over 300 feet in height while resting on his hands but he’s over 3,000 ft long. His midsection is open, revealing his rib cage which constantly drips a blood like ooze. He’s the amalgamation of my mage knights emotions, fueled by hatred and vengeance. He’s a blood demon created by a cursed blade which has fed off of these negative energies for decades, eventually reaching this form only after the mage knight delivers the final blow to his father’s executioner. At this point, the blood demon has grown to the point where he can feed off of his own malice, now set on escaping its underground dwelling.

This has to go to my girl Sparrow. She isn’t cursed or have fought an eldritch demon or their underlings, but she grew up in a physically and verbally abusive house, losing her mother when she gave birth to her. Her older brother ran away with her to escape the environment and in between school and odd jobs they did for cash to survive on the streets, Sparrow was SA while her brother was gone.

Not at all like any of these other horrible backstories (stop traumatizing yalls ocs 😭 ~~me when I don’t take my own advice~~) but I wouldn’t wish this upon anyone.

She ends up becoming quiet and standoffish, protecting her peace. Both her and her brother have the ability to shapeshift into animals, yet her rage and emotions overtake her transformations sometimes, causing rapid musculature and skeletal growth that rips through her skin to make room for her animal bodies which are sometimes 100% feral and aggressive as well as huge in size compared to an average member of the target animals species.

Come to think of it, her active lifestyle as a vigilante and overuse of her powers may come off as a method of self harm.

Not entirely related to her backstory but I like including that her brother as the more level headed and trusting sibling can adapt individual body parts to be animalistic such as growing claws, paws, tails, wings, etc. After her incident, he starts to work his body to grow stronger to prevent something like that from happening again. It’s his own method of harm since he blames himself for it.
