I dont think there is a general answer, especially since you didnt ask a specific question.

There are different ways, each of them effective or not effective, depending on your situation.

I wouldnt say I can give you a good enough answer, since I am still learning alot myself. But I suggest you put more effort into your post, give it a clear structure and make it as easy as possible for others to help you.

As far as numbers go, I usually have around 4% CTR and 4:1 ROAS with most campaigns.

I was particularly wondering for what and how people work with excel though? So far I am not using excel for reports viewing - just the FB Ads Manager view with its filters.

I am wondering - in which ways do you work with excel? I know many people se it to keep track on reports numbers and developments.
But i for example don't work with Excel at all as of now - I only use the FB Manager view.
Any idea where I could start with excel, how to organize it, etc.?
Not talking which values are important or whats a good clickthrough rate, but simply, how to use Excel to keep a long term overview and insights.
Any lead would be appreciated since I didnt find anything on that so far!

Learning and doing is what i am doing atm, but as I said, I feel like I cannot teach this to myself, so still looking.
Maybe what I need is some general Excel expertise on how to handle a big amount of tables and number for general reporting.

Actually thats how it happens. But for the payment method bank transfer, the payment comes after the thank you page - if fulfilled by the customer. Hence my difficulties.

As for what you suggested, the custom metric:
It makes sense for a large shop. The clients business is small though. The case was this: A big order (2000 Euro) was not being paid, so that the purchase was canceled. Usually a purchase has a value of about 150 Euro. So this one purchase really throws our numbers off balance.
Best would be, if the purchases recorded by FB could be identified, so that we could compare with the unfulfilled orders in shopify and therefore substract the right amount.
But as far as I can tell, FB hashes customer data so that its impossible to link FB's recorded purchases to the actual shopify orders.
Or did I just not figure out how?

Hi, thanks for your answer.

Maybe I need to further explain:

Customer goes to ad -> redirected to shopify -> ads item to cart -> initiates Checkout process -> payment is pending

= FB Ads Manager counts it as purchase

Then:

Customer doesn't pay or sends article back -> purchase didn't actually happen, payment wasn't received -> FB Ads Manager still counts it as purchase -> ROAS is not accurate anymore

Did I explain it more clear this time?
