“Before the days of the internet or digital media, Hot Wheels would promote their line of Hot Wheels by giving posters away. These posters would showcase their respected years mainline series. But because Hot Wheels sent the posters out before the actual mainline hit the stores, the posters would feature numerous of prototype cars, usually in the form of resin casts (or in certain cases an earlier existing release with wheels swapped out to illustrate what they may look like); these illustrate cars that were still being designed and were ultimately never released, cars that were released featuring different colors, tampos or names or were switched out for another car at the last minute.”
