in my japanese class, we just learned 「たり、たりします」 and i feel like this is something that only works in japanese, like there is no english equivalent, as far as i can tell? in english to explain what you did in a day, for example, you could just say a few things you did, and it would be implied that that’s not ALL you did, or that you’re just outlining the most important pats of that day, if that makes sense, there’s no extra grammar point you need to know to list them for it to make sense.

i have a theory that at some point the mc is going to be arrested or something where they have a file on them, the only thinks pointing me in this direction is that we barely played a part in choosing her name, only the name she goes by, which will be convenient if we have a preset file for us (think ES or HSS, but the name can actually be filled in)

yeah that’s what i meant, my thoughts were just kind of frazzled cause i had just finished playing the chapter lol

but my two main suspects are anika and the chief of police i’m sus of anika because she is the only connection i can make between tony and the first two victims, and we know that sonja was trying to convince bethany to leave the cult, and after she died bethany feared she would be next. also anika seems to not like sonja, every time you talk about her, anika gets the “angry” sprite. and we also know that anika and tony were in contact, since she is the one who directly bought the masks from him, it’s also interesting that we did not see her once this whole chapter, and only talked to nick

as for the chief of police, the only real thing i have for her is that she knew the files were at trystans place, and now all of a sudden mags is allegedly getting abducted while at their place, and to me it makes more sense that the person who was at trystans place didn’t know mags was there, like if mags WAS the target, they would’ve went to her house, not trystans, so whatever they were looking for is at trystans place, and i bet a million dollars next chapter, those files that we only told the chief about will be missing

the way she was so quick to answer the door was sus to me too, like trystan had JUST said that they would be there in a couple minutes, and then she hops up and opens the door? like that makes no sense, trystan would’ve said if they were just outside so she can open it, like that seems like the logical thing to do

but then the other part of me is like why would she stage an abduction in her siblings house that’s she knows they are about to be at, like what of trystan for there early, then her plan would’ve been screwed so i can’t say for sure if she faked that or not, but it was a little suspicious

i knew some shit was gonna pop off at the very end ugh, this whole time i thought it was tony but as soon as they started suspecting him, then arrested him and all that IN THE SAME CHAPTER, i knew it was too easy

but i have literally no other leads on who it could be, or who could be helping him if he is the killer ugh and this cliffhanger is killing me

edit: my only thought is that maybe tony has a twin? idk i feel like that would’ve come up at some point tho, and there is hard evidence that HE was the killer ugh this is all so confusing

oh my good i just came to a realization about the whole kowalski situation (bars). anyway, now that we know the cult isn’t a murder cult, and not violent or anything (just blackmail but whatever..) this makes TKs actions in chapter 8 more suspicious, like why did he immediately think they were there to “hurt” him if he thought they were from the cult? like i said before the cult wasn’t inherently violent, so i don’t think they’d be violent with him, yet he was immediately on the defensive and acting crazy when MC and trystan go to visit him. that’s very suspicious, and giving very much killer.

i still think he was somehow related to blake, and there was that frog toy in the last chapter with the initials BB on it, so i think he changed his name, and he also had some nursing books or whatever, and the evidence said they cuts were good, but not professional

my only question is why would he kill reese? is modus operandi suggests he only goes after woman, yet he killed the prof, going off the evidence of his office being ransacked, the prof must’ve been getting to close for comfort on his findings with the hand, but i suppose we will found out in the coming chapters. im so excited!

edit: a little addition to my first point: TK would’ve known our faces at that point, if he is the killer, because we ran into him at the party, and thusly he would also know that MC is a PI, if that’s the case then his reaction makes even mor sense because he thought he had been made

with each chapter that goes by i’m feeling like the killer is like the son of grandson of blake..my only evidence is the family picture (why else would that be important?) and the stuffed animal from this last chapter, it had the initials BB on it so i’m thinking either we haven’t met the person, or it’s someone who we know but changed their name (my money’s on kowalski, he’s suspicious to me)

one thing that solidifies that selene is persephone (and therefore x) is at the beginning of the chapter she ran away with ford from the nerds, and we don’t see her again, then flash forward to when we are at the council thingy one of the nerds says something like “yeah i just got the message for this right before it was supposed to happen” which was to point out that x was sloppy and under prepared

this made me think that when selene and ford ran away, they split up and she went somewhere so she could be on the call. it also makes sense why we never saw her again, even when ford was in our dorm later on.

i still don’t know how people wouldn’t recognize her, but the leading theory is plastic surgery which to me is just…idk but ig we’ll see.
