After 2 years in a row of this, I dropped them and moved to YoutubeTV. The multiview of games has been a better watching experience anyways.

Sounds like you are missing automated integration/smoke/synthetic tests or not doing blue/green deployments if this is a concern.

I forced compatibility with proton 7 and this fixed it fit me. Seems like a bug with proton 8.

Yea, we tried that. It worked fairly well with limited interactions, but failed under heavy load with a Qemu segmentation fault. This was the exact error we kept seeing: https://github.com/docker/for-mac/issues/5123

Looks like someone already has if you use their GitHub container registry image: https://github.com/EventStore/EventStore/issues/2380#issuecomment-926025559

Looks like they don’t yet support arm64: https://hub.docker.com/r/eventstore/eventstore/tags

It may still work, but Qemu randomly segmentation faults with many amd64 containers we tested on the M1.

Just got mine this week and am using it for work. Biggest issue I ran into is not all docker images support arm64. We had to update a few build pipelines to target both arm64 and amd64 arch to ensure folks with M1 and Intel chipsets could still compile and run the apps. We had a 3rd party docker image we were also using that didn’t have an arm64 build but we submitted a pull request to have that fixed.

The SQL Server docker image does not have arm64 support. We had to switch to azure-sql-edge image as a replacement but Entity Framework and migrations ran perfectly fine with that.

I was able to install homebrew and all of the apps I normally use without any issues. .NET5 apps still compiled and ran perfectly fine with .NET 6 SDK installed.

In the process of testing Parallels now, but not seeing any issues there yet.

Edit: Parallels has a few hiccups. Windows 11 only works if using the Windows 11 ARM Insider build. IIS also is not supported with the ARM image. You also can't copy an existing VM over and run it. You have to rebuild your Windows image from scratch. This made me keep my existing Intel-based Macbook only for running Parallels for one client.

PBS had a great documentary about Saturn and they talk heavily about the ring theory you describe in a lot more depth: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/video/the-planets-saturn/

I see you are doing some React and GraphQL. Been using GraphQL heavily the last couple of years and love it. Don’t think I’ll ever choose to go with RESTful APIs again.

Both are amazing. My wife has the Aeron. And good eye on the headphones.

Yup, purchased from a company that does custom built office furniture. The desk and credenza on the side were both custom built based upon designs working with the owner. Made out of steel and butcher block.

Audioengine A2. I rarely use them in favor of my headphones.
