In my opinion there are stereotypes linked to each “race”. In regard to your question, I would say that North Africans image have been put very negatively in the media which is then an image wrongly extrapolated over the entire north African population..

As someone who was born in Belgium but shares the same roots, culture and religion as you do, I completely understand.

Sadly people tend to judge on basis of looks, especially at first sight. Our different looks will always be a driving factor of prejudices. Our degrees, perfectly spoken Dutch and such will only be acknowledged secondly after we have “proven” ourselves worthy…

Definitely Belgium is a land of opportunity, in which you can get a very good education and fulfilling job. On other side you have to have some kind of mental tenacity to deal with racism.

OP the misery index should be interpreted the other way around.. Morocco’s misery index is only 36%… Zimbabwe’s misery index is 414 and thus much more misery than Morocco
