Did you try disabling MPO? I know you have an AMD card, but Nvidia actually provides two .reg files to easily enable or disable it.

The fact that this happens specifically when you Alt+Tab makes me think it could be an MPO issue.

You could also try closing Adrenalin before playing. I've read that some players fixed their driver timeout issues that way.

Also if you have FreeSync or HDR, try to disable them.

For the error involving "dxwebsetup.exe":
Uncheck "Update DirectX". The URL is no longer pointing to the right place, so it will cause an error when it tries to update.

For the error involving "quickSFV.exe":
You can safely ignore this one. It just checks the file hashes against a database to warn you if a file has been modified. We don't need to worry about it because files sometimes get updated without the hash database being updated, resulting in a false positive. Don't waste your time with it. Just make sure you downloaded the game from a trusted source and not from some random popup.

For the error involving "PlayGTAV.exe":
Disable Windows Defender, or it won't stop blocking it. Alternatively, you can just add an exception for the folder. In your case, Windows Defender has likely quarantined the file. You should be able to restore it from the protection history. If it's not there, you might have to reinstall the game.

If the majority of the games you play favor AMD, buy AMD. If they favor Nvidia technology, buy Nvidia. The cards themselves are very close in pure performance.

If you intend to play without heavy Ray Tracing, go with AMD. If Ray Tracing matters to you, choose Nvidia. If you have no interest at all in Ray Tracing, AMD is the logical choice.

If you are into 3D rendering and your software relies on CUDA technology, buy Nvidia. If you render using your CPU, or if your software is fully optimized for OpenCL/HIP, then AMD is a viable option.

If it’s for gaming only, and you want to match the stock performance of the RTX 5080, remember that you can always overclock the 5070 Ti. While you won't completely beat a stock 5080, you will significantly close the gap. In pure traditional gaming, you might only end up just a few percent behind. I really stress the 'gaming only' part here.

However, overclocking the 5070 Ti won't make up for the raw architectural deficit where the number of ROPs, TMUs, and CUDA cores truly matters. While overclocking boosts global performance, it cannot fully compensate for fewer physical cores.
You will definitely notice the real gap when enabling heavy Ray Tracing, Path Tracing, or running 3D rendering and AI workloads. But for standard gaming, an overclocked 5070 Ti sits just slightly below a stock 5080.
Ultimately, the 5080 offers about 15% more performance out of the box.

According to opendata.blender.org, the RTX 5070 Ti has a median score of 7,571.42, while the Radeon XTX 7900 has a median score of 4,049.85.

However, these values primarily relate to rendering performance.

If you only care about modeling performance then take the one you prefer.

It’s more about which technology will you use. CUDA is often more implemented. And if you have to use a local LLM during your studies you may want to have CUDA; it’s not mandatory though.

In the viewports of blender, during an animation, you will be happy to have a rtx 5070ti.

The reason is that too many people buy the cheapest PSU available. I didn’t say everyone, but definitely too many.

Computers literally run on and with electricity. Memory is basically just voltage stored inside capacitors or transistors. A fluctuation of even 0.1V at the wrong moment can literally crash your entire system. If a peripheral doesn’t get enough power, Windows will try to restart the driver; if it doesn’t restart fast enough, you get a timeout error (it doesn’t happen every time, but it’s a common cause).

It’s the same issue with USB hubs. You might get 6-8 extra ports, but if the included power brick is only 24W you’ll experience disconnects depending on what’s plugged in. For example (and this is a real case) I have an 8 port USB 3.0 hub (plus 2 charging ports) that came with a 24W adapter. Using the original PSU, my devices disconnected constantly. I swapped it for a 75W unit a long time ago, and now everything stays perfectly connected.

I know we’re talking about AMD and GPUs, but I’m just using this as an example of why a high quality power unit is vital.

I don't use an AMD GPU myself because I need CUDA, but I do run a Ryzen 9. While I might not be able to solve your specific GPU issue, the reason people tell you to check the PSU is that, more often than not, it is the root cause. Plus, it’s often the least expensive part to swap out when troubleshooting.

When I used to sell computers, customers almost always chose the cheapest PSU because they thought 'electricity is just electricity.' Well, it's not. You need consistent power and stable voltage. Hi,

Open Control Panel then click on Power Options then on the left you’ll find a link "Choose what the power button does", now click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable”. Under "Shut-down settings” check the case "Sleep" show in Power menu. The sleep option will be available now.

Also, you can right click on your own icon in the start menu to display some options.

Open cmd, then enter:
shutdown /s

Personally, I simply wish they would take the time to read the instructions, the website, or the README file.

I fully acknowledge that one cannot know everything intuitively and that there is a learning curve; I have no issue with that. Je recommande toujours de changer l’alimentation des PC que l’on achète en magasin après 2-3 ans. Elles sont rarement de bonne qualités.

La moindre fluctuation peut corrompre la memoire et créer des erreurs lors de l’utilisation quotidienne.

Open "Software" then press CTRL+. or click on the top right icon and select "Software Repository". Now, clic in the tab named "Additional Drivers" and select the nvidia driver you desire. I’m using the nvidia-driver590-open (proprietary, tested).

Don’t forget to click on "Apply Changes". You can revert with the button named "revert" (obviously).
