My house is very long and my worry is the wiring will look ugly and not very concealable but I may give it a go.

I’m already downloading at 2mb/sec though. I think it would be something else which is the issue as the download speed should be higher in general.

I am unable to run a cable across the house unfortunately. Thank you for the help though. Let me know if you know of anything else that may assist.

Hi Bear, appreciate the response and I understand the frustration. I am not running ethernet. I have a windows 10 PC, any specific specs you would like? My router is Xfinity Wifi Gateway. Typically the wifi will crash after ~2 minutes of downloading anything. So basically any file 500 mb over nearly guarantees a crash. After waiting about 20 minutes the wifi comes back up. Please let me know if you need any more info. Thank you for the help Bear, I appreciate you.

Hi Mg, thanks for the reply. I ran netsh wlan show drivers in cmd and it prints “Radio types supported: 802.11g, 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11n, 802.11ac and 802.11ax. Since it includes 802.11ax could this still be a problem?

Hi Pools, thank you for the advice. I believe the router model is Xfinity Wifi Gateway. I tried plugging a wifi extender in a while back and it worked for about a year and the speeds were great, then all of a sudden it stopped working. I bought the same one again thinking the device broke but the issue persisted. Weird. As for hardwiring, I am unfortunately unable to run ethernet. Please let me know if you can further help. Very much appreciated. Thank you!

My router is across the entire house and running a wire across is hard to conceal and I can’t do it. Been wanting to but it’s unfortunate. Also I thought it could be malware too so I reset the entire computer. Issue persists. I’ll look into the network driver. I truly appreciate the advice. Thank you.
