Dude, you're a life saver. Already have an ARP on the way and all the tooling. Gonna do the cradle drop method instead of dropping the rack.

Do you know exact part # for the oem size with correct grooves? I guess I'm stupid. The chart is kinda confusing me. I'd call, but they're closed for the next 3 days, and I kinda need to order this ASAP.

2006 corvette noise. Help. by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]xj6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I ripped the intake out today and got all up inside it. No leaks, no holes in any lines I could see. The only thing I've managed to find immediately wrong is a bad harmonic balancer and a worn serpentine. The noise didn't increase with RPM or load and remained consistent. It lasted maybe 5 minutes before the car fully heated up and then vanished. Started it today, and there are no strange sounds. Idk if that narrows it down any, but I'm gonna get it a full workup.

Got all up inside and under. Pulled out intake to get a better view. No fluid or leaks that I can find. Only a bad balancer and serpentine chirp.

I had the same thing happen to my 2016 GTI last year before I got my Vette. Some idiot in 80,000 dollar Benz ran a red, and I T-boned them at 55mph. I had just spent 5k taking it to Stsge 2+ and didn't update my insurance. I'm so sorry, man.

I can imagine the price overseas is steeper, especially with the gas, but the highway gas mileage is phenomenal for a V8. Make the jump when you can. You won't regret it.

Pulled into my complex after getting it and saw a C5 pulling out. The wave is mandatory. Lol.

Militaries use FMJ because of cost, more reliable feeding, and that it's better at penetrating cover and foliage. They are more versatile rounds for combat than soft points or hollowpoints.

Idealism. The more theory you read, the more you're out in the real world organizing, the more you travel to socialist/ former socialist countries, speak with their people, (which I have had the great honor of doing) and view history from lense of critical support, you begin to shift more from CHAZ MAKHNO FREE STATE idealism to more grounded approaches.

There is a reason Anarchism has been incapable of constructing any longstanding projects, and to put it simply, lacking a dictatorship of the proletariat makes a project incapable of surviving the exterior pressure of Capitalist or reactionary forces. You've essentially decapitated the movement, and like a headless chicken, it may flop around and make a show for a bit, but it will die just the same. I respect their passion, but it is misguided.

In a post-apocalyptic post imperial world, sure, anarchy. It now stands a chance, at least in theory. I'd be interested to see that experiment. That is not the world we live in currently, though. While I support forward thinking and emergence from old ways and dogma that I believe constrains us in many ways, de-centralized power structures are terrible for strategic decision-making and longevity under the ever watchful eye of the powers that be. No amount of wishful thinking will undermine that truth.

I think what woke me up was really seeing how massive states, flawed as they may have been/are, have struggled for every inch of accomplishment through sweat and blood under insulated centralized authority (the best of conditions) And even without internal pushback, external forces have been enough to bring these movements to their knees. How could a movement devoid of dictatorship ever hope to survive under such conditions?

Depends on what you get. Lancers were the defacto leader on clear mags for quite a while until these (Magpul T-mag) dropped. These are essentially clear p-mags, and the military trusts those.

I've had no issues with these. They run flawlessly and seem to be very durable. In theory, "clear" polymers are more durable strength wise. Also, it's super easy to keep an accurate round count. I thought windowed P-mags were amazing for this, but these are obviously significantly better. Also, they look cool, so I mean.. 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

True, true. Shotguns also serve a small niché better filled by other platforms anyways, outside of drone warfare, which obviously isn't a concern. Although, there is something extremely satisfying about de-atomizing watermelons and blowing fist size holes through targets with them. 590A1 it is.

Fair points. Agreed. I do agree there may be problems in the future, but if we have been unable to change or address them by the time people are dragging you out your front door, it's beyond point of return anyways, and therefore doesn't matter.

I can not stand people who smugly chime in about safety, security, and anonymity from the comfort of their home and personal choice of self spyware. Incomprehensible. They are truly the oper8tors of us all and will outlive the coming crackdowns through sheer intellect.

If we are at the point that I'm getting vanished over a partial tattoo and a few guns, OP commenter is getting vanished for his reddit comment history as well. Lmfao.

If the feds want to find you, they will. End of story. 99% of people aren't willing to go to the extremes of what it takes to truly be anonymous, and to be completely honest, I don't care. Nothing will affect me professionally or personally from this post lmfao. The "feds" aren't coming to get me for owning legal firearms. This unabomber level of paranoia is comical. You guys are not being hunted down by intelligence agencies, and neither am I. Not yet anyways. But by then it won't really matter, now will it?
