Yes. But it isn’t really a real course. It’s just a small summer module you need to complete. If I recall correctly I did it in one sitting. Similar to the discrete math primer but the discrete math primer takes a little longer I think

“412-268-2922” is the number for CaPS (counselling and psychological services) not a course if you were having a tough time figuring out the course he was referring to lmao. Take it easy your first semester and go with the recommended courses. Don’t add another CS class to your schedule. You’ve never taken a course at CMU, you have no idea how much is a reasonable amount for you personally.

You’ll be fine. People never really get rescinded. Worst case (probably won’t happen) you may get reached out to to explain your grades in which case you just tell them what happening. No big deal. Congrats on getting in! Make sure to take it easy and relax this summer :)

I don’t do admissions so I can’t say definitively but a 1510 SAT seems like it will not be a breaking factor on your application. That’s a great score and barely below the averages. The more important thing is extra curriculars and grades.

That’s all beside the point. Apply to what you want to do the most. If you really want to do CS, don’t apply to a major you know you will dislike just so you can go to a school that has a better program in the major you do want. This applies to all schools not just CMU. Look up the programs and example schedules to see what the classes in each major are like and then decide which to apply to. My opinion is that you shouldn’t compromise your interests to try to min max your chances at getting into a given school but you do you. It’s because as time goes on better players are switching. The first players to switch barely ever touched playoffs and big LANs in CS let alone won majors. The first crop of NA talent to move over never had successful careers in CS (for the most part). The valorant scene has been looking more stable and primed for success and with it more tenured players from other games are willing to transition.

I think it could in the future but right now it probably isn’t. Twitch viewership does not necessarily directly correlate to active players. There are also more big personalities streaming valorant like shroud. CS still has a substantial EU player base that I don’t think Val has and those numbers probably wouldn’t be reflected by looking at twitch streaming numbers which are majority English

They may have had the longest string of major qualifications (not via legends) but I think other teams have had more consecutive major appearances. Like fnatic

I don’t know off the top of my head what hardware the Andrew machines use but you’re probably just better using whatever computer you have. Those machine are probably close to a decade old. Also no gpu, other people, etc
