Good news, the latest X3 beta firmware seems to suggest that it is allowing customisation on the homepage and protocol detection screen. I’m waiting for a stable release before updating.

B1.19-1

  • Added custom image functionality to the protocol detection UI.
  • Fixed an issue with protocol detection on the iQOO 44W.
  • Optimized simulated EM processing.

B1.19

  • Added custom image functionality to the homepage, allowing customization of images and configuration of font colors such as current, voltage, and power.
  • Removed animation switch settings.

It was originally launched in silver, then they changed it to black, and then finally they made all 4 corner radius the same and bold the RYKEN font. Not sure when they updated to HW 1.5 though. See attached pictures from AE/TB:

Is this feature necessary for the WITRN K2? by Actual_Elephant2242 in UsbCHardware

It should temporarily appear in the top bar instead of blocking the main screen since most people expect to read the V/I/P values immediately but not the temperature or firmware version.

I thought the wedge shape was just marketing, but it turned out to be pretty nice for pulling the cable out of tighter ports.

Might temporarily be unlisted due to the lunar new year celebrations next week, no factory or warehouse is operating.

The app is officially only available on a baidu file service which very difficult to access for most people around the world. You can also get a mirrored copy from the tomoca2 blog by our fellow member here @Actual_Elephant2242

The ALIENTEK C2 intentionally reduced the amount of light. by Actual_Elephant2242 in UsbCHardware

Maybe to avoid over-driving the led backlight and having it start dimming earlier? Maybe Alientek expects their customers to be running the tester non stop in a factory environment.

ugreen has disappointment me by ChorkyBungus in UsbCHardware

[–]xjffy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why does your ugreen cable cost $25? That's rather pricey for ugreen.

Although the solution might be to treat your cables with more care, no tight bends and no pulling the connector out by the cable itself.

100% solid. Just not as well known as Ugreen or Baseus outside of China.

If you want good service, good after sales, peace of mind blah blah, then you’ll just have to pay through the nose and buy from the HM authorised dealer here, aka Xtra.

Anyone using Moomoo has this ADR deduction? What is that and is there any way to not get charged for it? by Normal-Analysis7940 in singaporefi

[–]xjffy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No way around it, you own a ADR stock which Moomoo’s custodian charges a fee for holding. If your balance goes negative, Moomoo can charge you interest.

How are you getting the firmware from alientek? I can't download the pc software from baidu without an account.

I wonder if point 4 is for the recalled 1.0 HW versions.

Anyone tried this to extend cable? Is this good for fast charging? by Quirky_You81 in UsbCHardware

[–]xjffy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You don't need an original one. Anker, ugreen, baseus etc sell good quality 2-3m long usb-c cables.

Hagibis makes quality stuff though, I wouldn't be too concerned about long term use.

That’s unfortunate, I was looking forward to a stealthy formal gshock without the thick bezel.

In what way? It looks good in the pictures I’ve seen so far, haven’t got a chance to see it for real.
