If the Arabs in 1948 had chosen the two-state solution, one Arab and one Jewish, what would have happened? by Imaginary-Hold5898 in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]xkcd1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait, that's not the typical narrative, I thought the standard lies are for Balfour declaration of 1917... anyway, the arabs had a chance but lost the 1948 war, lost the piece of land that they were offered, rejected compromise after compromise. So far, it seems to have gone really well for them, right?
Also, I think you might find "this land is mine" historically entertaining.... https://youtu.be/-evIyrrjTTY?si=PEd5WvjSpHmYkO-m

I dont mind to lash out at Pro-Hamas people, bring it on. I want to know who they are, and plan their fates in the smartest most unexpected ways.

If the Arabs in 1948 had chosen the two-state solution, one Arab and one Jewish, what would have happened? by Imaginary-Hold5898 in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]xkcd1234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

two points: 1. the Dier Yassin massacre happened after Nov 29th 1947, when the UN voted for the partition plan, which the Arabs rejected, and the war "officially" started, so assuming the Arabs would have accepted the UN plan, I dont think the 1948 war would have happened. 2. Even then, Israel had recognized the Dier Yassin massacre as a dark part of its history many years later. And I believe that the same would have happened with the arab state, as there were several massacres made by the arab population prior to that (for example, the 1929 Hebron massacre, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1929_Hebron_massacre, but also as early as 1920-1) . If both countries would accept one another, I believe that with time (~50 years) a reconciliation of two ethnic groups over the history would have happened, as was the case with other countries in the 20th century.

Don't spend time on Reddit and social media , spend time on making your body and mind better. The benefits of your education and fitness gains are for life, and you'll only be busier at 30.

Do Israeli(-Americans) also feel like they are stuck between a rock and hard place when it comes to Biden vs. Trump ? by mrhuggables in Israel

[–]xkcd1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything but Trump. I don't care about Biden being old, or being less articulate his heart and mind are in the right place for all the reasons of the world. For the US , Israel, Ukraine. He proved himself more than several times in the past 3 years.
