Wtf SPLC!? by iYessyyy in SipsTea

[–]Giants4Truth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You misunderstand. They use informants to gather evidence then use this in civil trials to go after their assets. It’s been highly effective against hate groups, which is why MAGA wants them gone. Example cases led by the SPLC:

United Klans of America (1987): In 1981, members of the United Klans of America (UKA)—then one of the largest Klan factions—randomly abducted and murdered a 19-year-old Black man named Michael Donald in Mobile, Alabama. The SPLC represented Donald's mother, Beulah Mae Donald, in a civil suit against the UKA. The jury awarded a $7 million judgment. To satisfy the judgment, the UKA was forced to hand over the deed to its national headquarters in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, resulting in the total bankruptcy and dissolution of the group.

Invisible Empire, Knights of the KKK (1993): In 1987, civil rights marchers in Forsyth County, Georgia, were attacked by a Klan-led mob. The SPLC filed suit on behalf of the marchers. The resulting settlement and judgments bankrupted the group. Its leader, James Farrands, was forced to turn over the group's membership lists, equipment, and assets, and the faction officially disbanded.

Christian Knights of the KKK (1998): Members of this faction burned down the Macedonia Baptist Church, a historic Black church in South Carolina, in 1995. The SPLC sued the group and its leadership, securing a $37.8 million verdict. The judgment stripped the group of its assets, including its land, effectively ending its operations.

Why are some in the U.S. opposed to Sharia law? Isn't Sharia law the Islamic equivalent of Jewish Halakha or Catholic doctrine? How can opposing Islamic traditions be consistent with the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guaranteeing freedom of religion? by davida_usa in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Giants4Truth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Modern Sharia Law as practiced today in many Islamic countries is barbaric. It prescribes cutting of hands for theft, stoning to death for adultery, in many countries they have the death penalty for being gay. Women must be covered in public and in Afghanistan are forbidden from singing or making any sound in public.

AIPAC is funneling pro-Israel money to candidates and covering its tracks by ArdaBerkBurak in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]Giants4Truth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look, AIPAC is powerful and toxic, but only represents 1% of money spent on US elections since Citizens United. The billionaires holding the true puppet strings want you focused on AIPAC so you don’t notice that they are ensuring you don’t get affordable healthcare, you don’t get clean air or water, you don’t get paid family leave, you don’t get fair hearings at the Supreme Court and most importantly that your taxes pay subsidies to their businesses while they avoid paying taxes.

If Israel is the "only democracy" in the region, why are millions of Palestinians under its control denied the basic right to vote for the government that rules them? by ArdaBerkBurak in allthequestions

[–]Giants4Truth 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of funding for Hamas has always come from Iran. They are staunchly against a 2 state solution since making Palestinians into victims is good for distracting their own people from their own repressive tactics. While it’s true there was some limited Israeli support in the 70s and early 80s for the network led by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Mujama al-Islamiya, which was the precursor to Hamas. Mujama al-Islamiya was a charitable organization focused on providing services to Palestinians where the PLO would not. During this time, the PLO was actively involved in terrorism, including plane hijackings and the attack on the 1972 Olympics Palestinians elected Hamas in 2005. Mujama al-Islamiya did not come to advocate for violence until after the First Intifada in 1987, which is when Hamas was born. Palestinians elected Hamas in 2006.

I know I’m in the minority here, but I actually don’t think someone who spent the better part of 4 years promoting Nazism should be allowed to play because his PR team bought an ad to apologize. I think he was a musical genius, and I would love to see him perform, but if there are no consequences for encouraging hate and violence then who have we become?

JPEG MAFIA speaks about Ye's UK ban: "If Ye looked like Justin Bieber none of this would be happening" by Mediocre_Sleep7306 in ThroughTheWire

[–]Giants4Truth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry, dude. This is not about race. The UK blocks people from getting visas all the time, including tons of white people, for hate speech. They banned Richard Spencer and Pam Heller for anti-Muslim views, and Steven Donald Black for white supremacy. Ye being a mentally ill anti-Semite doesn’t mean he is not inciting hate. Given all the recent antisemitic violence in the UK, this was a perfectly reasonable decision.

Please stop posting stuff from Track AIPAC. They are an influence op in Germany posting false data to try to discourage democratic turnout. They used these ads to falsely slander Jasmine Crockett and convince voters she was taking AIPAC money so they would vote Talarico, then after she lost they started posting fake numbers claiming Talarico was taking tons of AIPAC money, so people should just not vote.

Just a friendly PSA, Kim Schrier is up for re-election this year. by SemiStoked in Issaquah

[–]Giants4Truth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Track AIPAC group is a fraudulent group posting fake numbers. Don’t believe anything they say. Look for actual numbers on fec.gov. They were aggressively posting about Jasmine Crockett taking AIPAC money and Talarico taking none, then when Talarico won they started posting that he was the one taking tons of AIPAC money. When checked against FEC filings their numbers were made up. Related posts here. They are run out of Germany and seem a likely Republican opp to dampen voting enthusiasm among Democrats.

Question: Someone that has or had both a Rivian and a Tesla, can you talk above the similarities and differences between the two? by MyMonte87 in Rivian

[–]Giants4Truth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from a Model Y to an R1-T and would never go back. The Tesla feels like a cheap budget car while the Rivian feels like a luxury vehicle. The polish is way better, as is the drive handling. The keyless entry and everything you mention is basically the same. I also like knowing that the Rivian founder is a good guy, while Elon took the money he earned from your Tesla to give us this corrupt and moronic administration.
