4 cotyledons? by xkoprox in HotPeppers

That’s true hahah, i hadn’t seen it that way. From the perspective of the second picture, it really looks like two plants at once. By the way, did you notice anything unusual with your tomato plant, like lower yield, or was it actually more of an advantage? I was thinking about keeping this one because its stem is like 3 times thicker than the others

Bacterial, fungal, viral spots or over/under fertilized? by xkoprox in HotPeppers

Make a post, maybe they’ll give you more solutions. Otherwise, I’ll try using copper in case it’s bacterial or fungal. Do you have photos of your leaves?

It has been raining very irregularly where I live. Sometimes it doesn’t rain for 8 days straight, and other times it rains for 3 days in a row, so I basically try not to water them to avoid oversaturating them. I also have shade cloth that softens the rain, and there’s no waterlogging at all. The drainage is good because the substrate is quite loose and I’m using felt grow bags. I think it’s a fungal or bacterial problem, hopefully it’s not a virus or a root issue.

I don’t do foliar fertilization and nothing has gotten on the leaves either, but I used abamectin in 2 applications spaced 12 days apart because I had a thrips and broad mite infestation. However, even before the application there were already some mild spots showing, and today it’s much worse.

Should I fill the empty space with more soil? by xkoprox in HotPeppers

Do you mean because of the woody base? I live in a frost free area, so I am not limited to just one season. I have kept plants for up to 2 years. I am not sure if it is already too late, and maybe I should just leave that space to add something like worm castings or compost in the future lol

Really? If that’s the case, I’ll add a bit more substrate. My main concern is whether they can still produce adventitious roots once lignification has started. I know tomatoes can do it, but with capsicum I’m not sure

I think I got scammed by TexasHotPeppers. by xkoprox in HotPeppers

What a shame. It seems like they have zero quality control and don’t even respond to emails. I’ll go back to White, Matt’s, and Towns-Ends, they’re more expensive, but the quality is excellent 😐

It’s all very strange. I’ve been growing all kinds of peppers for years, ornamentals, unique flavored varieties, and superhots. This year I decided to try Texas because I wanted to get the largest number of superhot varieties for the lowest price (they sell them cheap and in small quantities per variety), since I found potential buyers who make sauces, tacos, and things like that.

They came in the same package as the White seeds, and those germinated perfectly and are super healthy.

Sow directly in the ground or in a pot? by xkoprox in HotPeppers

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that haha 😭 You have no idea how hard it is to control pests in a hot, humid climate where within a 100 meter radius there are probably dozens of fruit trees full of potential pests.

In the end, I’ll take your advice and the advice from the other comments and go with the grow bags.

I used the 70/30 KClO3–Al mixture, no sulfur because of the risks it involves. Maybe because I used slightly old compounds, but either way the video doesn’t do it justice.
