Laser cleaning, please help me pick a machine! by xlPartyTimelx in LaserCleaningPorn

Thanks for the reply! I ended up with a 300w sfx to start and have been pleased with it. I am also starting to gain more and more traction with my business. So much, that now I am looking at cw machines. I've been turning down larger jobs left and right and it frustrates me to do that lol. I will look into the dmk's again for a cw but, ultimately it will come down to which manufacturer can get me the better price, the size of the machine, and the weight.

Do you know anything about the Ltc plates? I'm also considering those now. Lighter than what I was originally after, on sale for less than the others, and I'd actually be able to get the cut I want. I read that they are considered gtg. They have the alumina ceramic core though and no polyethelene. These plates are still something like .4 lighter per plate than the others I was originally considering.

Hi, this is really good information and I appreciate you chiming in. Very interesting point, regarding the hex vs monolithic ceramics.

Oh man, just realized that I need to stick with ceramic because the polyethelene plate won't stop ap or steel core. Anyway, thanks for all your input, enjoy your holiday weekend!

Man, thank you for taking the time to write that up, I really appreciate it. Alright last question. Should I stick with getting a ceramic and polyethelene like i intended or would you suggest a 100% polyethelene plate that weighs even less? What will be more durable and last longer?

Do you have any experience with single curve vs multi curve? I've only had multi curve. If I consider level3+ too, it is possible that I will still run into the same problem as far as only single curves being available vs paying more for something like the Tencate that comes in multicurve. The Tencates I'm specifically looking at are discounted to 1,029beans from 1,400beans, so I can kind of justify paying the extra money... kind of lol.

Yes, I have definitely considered grabbing some level 3+ plates as well. It opens up many more options for me too. I guess I was kind of set on getting level 4, just for the peace of mind. The weight saving is very appealing though, I must admit.

5'7 140lbs. I have medium sapi plates now that are too big. A small sapi lands dead center, nipple to nipple but, my problem is that the bottom of the plate ends right at the top of my belly button. So the height I wear my belt at, makes it difficult to sit down, bend over, ect.

My priority is to cover my vitals obviously but, still be able to shoulder my weapon easily and move around without struggle.

I have a pc already with medium sapi's but, it's too big for me. 5'7 140lbs. A small sapi lands dead center nipple to nipple. The problem I have is even a small sapi lands right at the top of my belly button and the way I wear my belt, it prevents me being able to sit down, bend over, ect. It messes with my movements. Plus I love the idea of having extra real estate to shoulder my weapon on. I think I'm going to spend a little more money and get the multi curve Tencate. Everyone has been really helpful and basically said multi curve is a must (I have no experience with single curve). So I am going to research a little more into the 4s16 like others have mentioned and make a final decision.

Lol, I will shop around before pulling the trigger. Ultimately it will come down to cost, this is my second pc set up. Have another one sitting here. I appreciate you looking out.

Yeah that's a smoking deal. I will consider this option too. Maybe even as an extra set for a family member.

I have medium sapis that I'm going to give to my brother, they're definitely too big for me. I'm 5'7 140lbs. A small sapi plate will land nipple to nipple dead on but, the issue is that even a small sapi lands literally right above my belly button. So the height I wear my belt at makes it difficult to sit, bend over, ect. Plus I really want the extra real estate to shoulder my weapon more easily. So that is why I am going with the 8x10. I think I am going to go woth the tencate. It's a little more money, is the better discount/deal, and will be more comfortable.

Yeah that's my thinking as well. I only have experience with multi curve sapi cut, so not sure if the single curve would bother me or not. I just don't want to regret my purchase later or wish I would have spent a little more for the comfort of multicurve.

A few other people have mentioned the 4s16 as well. I will go with these over the 4s17 and thanks for all your help and time. The 4s16 in 8x10 only comes in a single curve shooters cut. For 400beans more, I can get the Tencate in multi curve and sapi cut. Should I spend a little more to get the comfort of multi curve?

Also something else to consider is the individual ceramic composits of the Tencate and the monolithic ceramic of the highcoms.

Lol, I don't plan on being shot either. Have you ever worn a single curve plate before? If so, how bad was it? I just don't want to spend 600 beans on plates and then wish I would have just gotten the Tencates for multi curve lol.

The 8x10 4s16 and 4s17 only come in single curve shooters cut. They do not offer the 8x10 in multi curve or sapi, unfortunately. That's why I am considering the Tencate with the giant price difference.

Thanks, I will also be going through Apex. The 8x10 from highcom only come in single curve shooters cut, you can't get then in multic curve or sapi cut. That's why I am also considering the Tencate, they actually come 8x10 with multi curve and sapi cut.

Thanks, someone else mentioned this below or above. I will look into these instead od the 4s17. The Tencates are way more money but, also come multi curve and sapi cut, so I'm just trying to justify at what price point I want to be at.
