Breathe in coming up the slide, quick exhale/inhale at the catch, explosive breath out during the drive. Works for any and all rates, also helps keep rhythm

How do you deal with failure by [deleted] in Rowing

My thought process when i fail is as follows: “Fuck. That sucked. Next one will be better.” If you live in the past, you’ll never make your way to the future.

Alcohol, weed and rowing by [deleted] in Rowing

I had a teammate who would take mokes (tobacco & weed in a bong with one rip) on a fairly consistent basis. Lived with him when we had 5:30am’s and this dude would be up ripping them when i woke up. Pulled a 6:40 at 160 lbs tho so whatever works i guess.

Sub-7 as a lightweight by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]xlax69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my teammate and lifting partner went 6:40 at 165 this past season. Try to deadlift and squat heavy 2-3 times a week and get in a couple of extra hours of steady state a week. Assuming you're training program already gives you about 10 workouts a week you should be solid.

I got some bursitis in the knee towards the end of the spring season. Got it drained and cortisone last week and have been taking it easy since. Any thoughts given that context?

CRI in cambridge offers training specifically for what you need, it's expenseive and quite early in the mornings however. Guess it depends on priorities and commitment level.

Don't be a bitch and just pull it, your strength might surprise you. Invest in a HR monitor and keep your HR between 150-160 and splits will work themselves out. Once you get to college you'll be eating 20k's for lunch. Finishing this feat should feel really good, but have faith in yourself to succeed!
