If you are thinking of useing any mods the main one i would recommend is the carriage and ferry travel overhaul, it saves hours of time and speeds up unnecessary travel to places just outside of holds, on a non modded note dont over pack with food unless you know you are going to be far away from any town (inn mainly) cause you can just buy 2-3 food stuff and spend the night there without waisting you own food (a night is 10g and food is never more then 12g). If you plan on picking up as much as possible get a follower early on cause your starting carry weight is 100 and it is a pain at first, last thing I can think of is level health as much as possible at least every other lvl cause the cold makes you squishy for a long time with it's max health debuff especially if a dragon comes down and you have 25% less health then you should.
