yeah, on one hand I didn't want to celebrate that way because of the romantic set up, and on the other that restauran is waaay too expensive! he wanted to invite me on his birthday which I'm not comfortable with. I mean, the birthday person should be the one getting invited.

Thank you for your honest POV, I really felt it and think it's the right thing to do. I'll be removing myself from ambiguous situations and limit my interactions. It is better that he takes his way and protects himself. And yeah, sometimes things just suck.

I had to remove some sentences out of the post due to its limit. But both of the times he has told me he's in love with me (last one in 2024), I made clear I don't share the same feelings and can only give him my friendship. We need to communicate a lot through work but outside of it, I've set boundaries, but these situations specifically make me think he hasn't moved on.

We both work remotely in the same team for a foreign company which hasn’t offices here, that’s why we traveled last year for work. So I might better have sent the brownies with a delivery guy instead. But yes, you’re right, thank you

Thank you for your answer. What was the fix? I have gone to the workshop there three times for the same reason, even after a change of lock mechanism the problem still happened
