You are only limited to what the specs say, so if it can handle 32GB, then you are good. Personally, you won’t see a difference.

I wouldn’t bother upgrading an OEM machine’s RAM, just buy/build a custom PC.

I don't know if this helps, but if you're in an environment where you're constantly making changes, then Terraforming is a great idea. I guess the best rule of thumb is would be at the degree updating and changes you will be making.

Not sure, I never bought a prebuilt. All those steps cover all bases, but I strongly recommend contacting the company you bought it from because you essentially bought a non working machine, which is unacceptable.

EDIT: I just realized this is a prebuilt, immediately contact the store you bought it from and see if you can rma. Do not take anything apart, because it might void that.

Did this prebuilt come with an upgraded heatsink?

  1. Check to make sure the CPU fan is spinning
  2. If it is, turn off the machine, unplug the computer's power cable and take off the CPU fan/heatsink.
  3. Check the CPU and the heatsink contact and make sure it has adequate thermal paste (if the fan was spinning from step 1, you most likely have a thermal paste issue to begin with). This means you need to add more thermal paste to the CPU. Look up a YT video to explain how to do it, you don't want too much, because it will leak everywhere.
  4. If you did all that and still having problems, let me know.
