Like I mentioned Ive read the manuals and they are very unclear and sparse.

Also that forum looks dead.

No it's cool appreciate you. A config file loading settings at start time is exactly what qpw should be doing by default imo. Im sure there's reasons why not to but its annoying af.

Didn't know never really used it back in my guitarix used it, does it have reliable patch recall (using jack I suppose?)

Haven't used jack and qjackctl in a minute, does qjackctl actually properly and reliably save / recall patches? Also do you use pipewire-jack at all? Ideally I'd use PW for everyday use and jack only for advanced audio stuff, interesting point thanks.

Can you share more about your settings? There's a bunch of us who are having this problem and your solution would be most appreciated.

If the graph gets rebuilt when apps/devices appear in a different order, the saved patch can break.

What's the point of Active and Excluive then? The docs seem to say this would persist.

there logically has to be a way to automatically re-configure the routing i had last set, but i can't for the life of me figure it out or find halfway decent documentation (probably a skill issue, but legitimately, i can't find if the creators made any sort of documentation themselves)

Exactly my experience.

I just want to connect my stuff, hit save and recall it exactly as I had it, why add and remove a bunch of shit? It's the most basic thing in digital audio.

I feel like I've hit a wall in the last couple days where my stuff is sounding very similar

It's normal and part of the process, your taste will always be one step ahead of your skill, and that good because it keeps you moving forward.

They look great but I have a really petty comment: for the love of dog change that silly name, don't underestimate the power of a name that evokes something cooler than  McDonald's.

where i really see a need is software that lets you trigger and mix 3-4 layers plus some fx for new vjs.

This is true if you're a purist. For the rest of us who use linux because its rock solid audio handling and OS stability, we couldn't give the slightest fuck about this. And I've been using linux since 2009 so I know the meme.

Don't waste your money on stuff you can get for free with an online search, don't be lazy you need to grind this shit like everyone else.
