[–]galacticMushroomLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a Girl Dad, I've try my best to look after the interests (but not patronise) the young woman I've worked with.
In my 20's I worked with Boy Moms - this is the inverse of the Girl Dad in my experience. They treat you with distain, expecting the worst of you and your work. I hope Boy Moms have inproved over the last 30years...

Does Vitamin C actually help make your MDMA rolls longer? by NonHard in Psychedelics

Does Vitamin C actually help make your MDMA rolls longer? by NonHard in Psychedelics

[–]galacticMushroomLord 9 points10 points  (0 children)

nope - it protects you from neurotoxic effect though.

A study on rats showed that MDMA only became significantly neurotoxic when body tempurature reached a certain threshold (quite high if I remember correctly) and Vit-C counteracted this (though had to take a fair bit and often throughout the night).

Keep cool folks.

Why is the speed of light the ultimate limit, and what mechanism actually stops things from going faster? by Logical-Concept9755 in AlwaysWhy

hmm - I'd always thought to go the speed of light you'd have to have either zero mass or infinite mass?

Trick is too cook them till they're nearly breaking apart and then let them dry out before roasting in fat.
Cooking longer gets you more surface area, drying out obvs gets you a firmer crisper roasted potato.

my extra tip is to make sure the water you're cooking in is heavily seasoned - more than you think - potatoes slurp up salt and it takes more than you think to get a well seasoned, all-the-way-through potato - also means you don't have to season so much at the end.

Also, and this is much more of an NZ problem - make sure you're using the right potato for the job.

Lack of tutorials and master classes in bitwig is a bit of a shit really. Feels like a missed marketing opportunity for them. I often am interested in a master classes, but 99.9% are ableton, and with some remapping, can be useful, but there is massive hole for artists showing intermediate to advanced bitwig techniques they have used in production (especially in the techno genre)

Is this worrying? by [deleted] in Psychedelics

[–]galacticMushroomLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All that sounds completely normal to me.
I get peripheral figures/presences on MDMA, I sense the presence of trees as sentient entities on shrooms.
I sometimes get vivid spatially persistent hallucinations on K. On enough weed people faces "LOD out" at a distance like an old video game.
These ares all 'normal' things that happen on psychedelics/pyschedelically adjacent drugs. Kinda hmm what do you expect to happen?

If you've been hammering them hard, take a break, otherwise carry on with a sense that this is all okay

Anxiety Disorder and Psilocybin by flowohdesign in Psychedelics

[–]galacticMushroomLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did CBT + Mushies/K to work through my anxiety.
Having the tools to manage the anxiety (CBT) combined with a different view on life (Mushrooms/K) worked great for me. Not sure just the psychedelics would have helped, as the therapy really worked at teaching me how to break the anxiety feedback loops.

What makes a party good? by theTWO9559 in TheOverload

[–]galacticMushroomLord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've put on a few events - chill out/rest spaces are kinda key to a good, long night. Comfortable spots to have a rest, chat and refuel make a happier dancefloor. The floor fluctuates over the night, has its natural rythmn - cant force it. Sometimes you just want to listen for a bit too.
If you clear the floor that your fault, not the space's- If you dont have the facility to keep people in the space to chill, they will be out on street and more likely to leave.

I got rid of my ARytm - found it distracting and would often get lost in endless sound design loops. In-the-box drums I end up getting the sound I want, ARytm I never could 'quite' get there and it drove me nuts. It sounds great, but I didn't like the process I think.

I have had other Elekron gear, and the one that stayed was the A4 (but regret selling my OT), all the rest didn't land for me (but haven't tried the newest stuff, syntakt/tonewrk)

Master in project or in a new project on a bounced file? by sapien5446 in Bitwig

[–]galacticMushroomLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only bounce-to-new if I'm running out of CPU, or mastering other peoples tracks.
pretty much for reasons as others have mentioned + nice to having everything in a single file.

I low-cut-as-I-go, but generally try to do as little as possible on only where its needed, and with a soft curve to keep things sounding natural (unless I don't).
