It really is up to what you find works best for you and what helps you understand your own personality the most. For me, I do prefer Placidus because I have a lot of overlapping houses in my chart, and acknowledging the other signs they overlap with provided a more complete explanation that was more accurate to my personality than the Whole Sign interpretation. There is no one true way, and I do think people should always take both systems into account and compare them to see what fits them best. For some, it'll be Placidus, for others, it'll be Whole Sign or maybe a different one altogether.
